Title/Role: Accounting Systems Administrator Division: Technology Location: Bethpage, NYReporting to: VP – Technology Operations Position Summary: E-J is seeking a motivated and skilled Accounting Systems Administrator responsible for the administration, optimization, and integrity of the company’s accounting, HR, and financial systems. This role serves as the bridge between Accounting, Payroll, HR, IT, and external vendors, ensuring that financial systems support accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with hands-on systems expertise and project management skills. What You’ll Do: Accounting & Financial Systems Management • Own and administer access for accounting and related financial systems (e.g., EmQue, Adaptive, GoCo, Trullion, Numeric, Constraphor)., • Ensure system configurations align with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements., • Maintain chart of accounts, department level structure, Project Manager job access and Payroll AccessData Integrity & Controls, • Establish and monitor internal controls related to financial systems., • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness., • Ensure data is consistently reported amongst all systems, • Support the performance of internal audits by providing system documentation and data extracts., • Monitor user access, segregation of duties, and system security.Process Improvement & Automation, • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through system enhancements and automation., • Lead system-related process improvement initiatives., • Manage system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and testing cycles with current providers, • Document workflows, system configurations, and procedures.Project Management & Stakeholder Support, • Lead or support system implementations, conversions, and integrations., • Act as primary liaison with IT, software vendors, consultants, and managed service providers., • Train accounting, payroll, and operational staff on system functionality and best practices., • Provide day-to-day system support and troubleshooting.Qualifications:, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field., • 5+ years of experience in accounting systems, financial systems administration, or accounting operations with significant systems responsibility., • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and payroll processing., • Experience with system implementations or major upgrades., • Hands-on experience with accounting and payroll systems (ERP or mid-market platforms)., • Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting or BI tools a plus., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Nice to Haves:, • Experience in union, construction, manufacturing, or multi-entity environments., • CPA, CMA, or relevant systems certifications., • Familiarity with timekeeping, benefits administration, and HRIS integrations.Key Competencies:, • Accounting & Financial acumen, • Systems thinking and process design, • Attention to detail and data accuracy, • Cross-functional communication, • Project management, • Leading Electrical Contracting Organization Nationwide, • Oldest Family-Owned and Operated Electric Contractor since 1899, • Job training and mentorship, • Competitive compensation packages, • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and 401K plan, • Paid holidays and vacation, • Merit-Based Bonus, • Tuition Reimbursement ProgramAnnual Salary Range: $125k-$150k The E-J Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and ensures equal employment opportunity for all persons without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, or any other characteristic protected by law. #LI-PIN Powered by JazzHR uX2pDo8hIr
