Job Description Position Overview The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring work quality, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the technical team. This leader spends most of their time actively involved in hands on maintenance, while also coordinating workflow, organizing the workshop, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The role reports directly to the Workshop Manager and is based on site at the assigned facility. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations • Lead, coach, and support the technical team., • Ensure operational efficiency, quality of work, and a safe working environment., • Coordinate manpower and resource allocation based on business needs., • Support team members with troubleshooting and technical guidance., • Foster teamwork, communication, and a positive working culture. Maintenance & Planning • Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance activities., • Track progress on work orders, timing, backlogs, and priorities., • Manage parts inventory, supplies, and materials needed for maintenance., • Review and approve inspection and maintenance documentation., • Assist technicians with reporting maintenance data and performance metrics. Customer & Cross Department Collaboration • Communicate with customers and internal departments as needed., • Provide updates on equipment status, timelines, and availability., • Participate in regular meetings to review operational performance and planning. Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and optimize equipment availability., • Recommend changes to procedures and workflows., • Contribute technical insights that support long term improvements. Administration • Oversee workshop documentation, including work orders, time tracking, and invoicing support., • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Skills & Qualifications • Strong technical background in maintenance and repair (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, refrigeration, etc.)., • Ability to make decisions under pressure., • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills., • Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution., • Proficiency with common computer applications (ex: Office 365)., • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment., • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Work Environment This position requires regular movement throughout the workshop and outdoor operational areas. It includes frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to ~25 lbs). Exposure to weather, noise, and typical industrial conditions should be expected. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $95000.00/yr. They offer three different medical plans with UHC (1 HSA plan and two traditional plans), there is cost sharing as well, for Employee Only TCR covers 80% of the monthly premium, for EE+ 1 or EE + Family TCR covers 65%. Delta is through Delta Dental And Vision is through UHC It's a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, PTO, paid sickness leave, and the provision of all PPE. Also provides employees with long and short term disability and life insurance at no cost. Additional life insurance can also be purchased through Lincoln.
