Job Title Night Shift - Maintenance Supervisor Primary Location County Waste Clifton Park, NY Salary: $90K - $95K and eligible to earn an annual bonus Position Responsibilities: • Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program., • Fosters collaboration between and among personnel., • Ensure adequate training of mechanics, preventative maintenance mechanics., • Ensure location is in compliance with all regulatory agencies and statutes., • Ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians., • Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment., • Trains and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment., • Schedules or assigns work to Mechanics, PM Mechanics or other Maintenance Shop personnel., • Coordinates and/or transports vehicles to outside service for repairs, as needed., • Tests vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or tests repairs to ensure proper and safe completion., • Makes emergency road calls to repair trucks., • Communicates regularly with the Division Maintenance Manager., • Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget., • Responsible for maintaining department’s costs within budget Knowledge and Skills: • Must have ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from concept to completion., • Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements., • Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives., • Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills and ability to achieve cost effective solutions. Requirements: • 5+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. (Waste industry experience desired), • Ability to train and motivate staff a must., • Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems., • Trade or Technical School Certificate preferred. High School or Equivalent required., • Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date., • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. Essential Job Summary:: Job Highlights The Operation Site Manager reports to the Director of Post Collection , manages the assigned scope of responsibility within a line of business and/or at specific site within a market. May be assigned single or multiple depots, building facilities, expense management, operations staff to maintain and ensure safe performance and productivity metrics and processes. Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.: • Manages the day-to-day operations of the depot(s), and provides daily support to Operations manager(s), supervisors in hauling, routing, labor planning, productivity tracking, and disposal activities., • Supervise, train, and evaluate site personnel, including drivers, helpers, ops supervisors and dispatchers., • Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs., • Responsible for the safety and DOT compliance of personnel reporting to that location. This includes compliance with OSHA and DOT., • Manages along with Safety department incident review calls/meetings to determine root causes and corrective actions are completed for all injuries and incidents (motor vehicle, property damage and environmental spills)., • Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions adhering to CBA where applicable, • Communicates with Customer Service and Sales as needed., • Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs., • Responsible for conducting monthly safety meetings/ training sessions.
