The role of the Food Service Manager is to oversee the daily operations and overall work-flow of our Dietary staff and ensure our residents are provided with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe, organized and timely manner in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction. • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Dietary Department to ensure timely, sanitary, and high-quality meal service for residents., • Oversee Cooks, Dietary Aides, and Supervisors for punctuality, proper attire, and duty compliance; fill in as needed., • Schedule, train, evaluate, and discipline staff; maintain attendance and timekeeping accuracy in SmartLinx., • Conduct routine rounds of kitchens, dining rooms, and nourishment areas to ensure sanitation, organization, and temperature control., • Monitor meal and snack preparation, tray delivery, and dining setup to meet residents’ diet plans and preferences., • Collaborate with Nursing, Recreation, and other departments to coordinate meal times, special requests, and satisfaction., • Maintain inventory and order food, supplies, and equipment; ensure proper storage, labeling, and temperature documentation., • Participate in audits, inspections, and committees such as Safety, Infection Control, and QAPI., • Ensure compliance with facility policies, HIPAA, and food safety and sanitation standards., • Manage performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and hiring processes as assigned., • Promote teamwork, professional communication, and a customer-focused environment., • Maintain organized, sanitary dining areas; verify temperature logs and update tray lists as needed., • Ensure adherence to residents’ care plans, adaptive equipment use, and proper dining room setup., • Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent)., • Associates Degree or post high school coursework or certification in in Culinary, Business, Hospitality, Healthcare Management, or related field, preferred., • ServSafe Certification a plus!, • Minimum two years of Food Service Supervisory or Management experience preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting., • Working experience as a Cook in healthcare industry/setting, required., • Exemplary customer service skills., • Ability to work well under pressure., • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and communicate with staff effectively., • Excellent organizational and time management skills., • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Pleasant personality and ability to work with residents, families, and staff from various departments. *Disclaimer: This is a general job summary for advertisement purposes only.
