Job DescriptionDescription: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for the financial integrity and operational excellence of our $58M nonprofit organization. This role provides strategic leadership in finance, technology, and business operations, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and mission alignment. The CFO oversees Finance, Development Accounting, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and CRM systems. Requirements: Essential Functions: Mission-Driven Financial Leadership • Develop and execute financial strategies that directly support the YMCA’s mission and strategic priorities., • Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize community impact., • Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, risks, and opportunities, always with a focus on advancing the Y’s cause., • Oversee all accounting functions, including fund accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds, with transparency and integrity., • Manage treasury, and cash flow operations., • Ensure grant compliance, accurate reporting, and adherence to donor restrictions to build trust with funders and stakeholders., • Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and Finance, and Audit Committees, fostering open communication and shared understanding., • Partner with Development to provide financial insights for campaigns, grants, and donor stewardship, supporting the Y’s philanthropic mission., • Collaborate with the executive team to cultivate community and business relationships that further the Association’s vision., • Lead team members to manage CRM systems for member engagement and revenue controls, driving operational efficiency., • Supervise AR and AP teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing., • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, modeling YMCA values in all interactions., • Champion the Y’s customer service initiative, “Expect the Best”., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA strongly preferred., • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit or complex organization., • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, fund accounting, and grant compliance., • Proven experience managing accounting and CRM systems. About the Role In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Senior Coordinator, Executive Support who will provide executive support and constituent relationship management support to two senior leaders, with the potential to support additional leaders if needed. As a member of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this person will help identify opportunities to standardize and enhance the quality of our leaders' administrative support and assist in the daily operation of their regional hub when required. This role is on the Office of the CEO team and reports directly to the Director, Executive Support. What You'll Do Minimum Requirements Support Senior Leaders (85%). • Provide administrative support to multiple executives, which includes scheduling in-person meetings and conference calls, and managing their calendars., • Responsible for travel logistics, including booking flights, train travel, rental cars, hotel rooms, and ensuring all travel details are confirmed for your executives., • Facilitate weekly look-ahead/look-back meetings to align on the executive’s priorities and goals, utilizing Jira and Trello to allow for cross-team collaboration as needed., • Facilitate regular touchpoints with your executives to discuss urgent items., • Coordinate logistics for meetings, including but not limited to managing attendee invitations and responses, preparing and printing materials, arranging catering and travel, and overseeing on-site logistics., • Enter stakeholder data and project details into Salesforce., • Assist executives with managing their email inboxes, as needed, including finding missing receipts., • Ensure timely, professional correspondence to internal and external stakeholders and project manage correspondence before and after meetings., • Manage regional and/or national Board meeting logistics, including scheduling and preparation of materials as needed. This may require travel to the region to provide on-site support., • Provide backup to the Operations team as needed, including but not limited to receiving catering orders, packages, and requesting office supplies. What You’ll Do Strategic Planning (40%) • Create the vision for and oversee the execution of the organization’s higher education partnership strategy, working alongside Braven’s Strategy and Finance team and other relevant teams as needed, to ensure alignment that drives Braven toward partnership growth and success., • Create the vision for, and oversee the execution of, the organization’s recruitment strategy to ensure Braven meets its ambitious growth goals., • Develop strategies to engage potential new partners, demonstrating the value of our service to university leadership., • Create a vision and operational plan for partnership excellence, working with regional EDs and other internal teams as needed, to develop robust metrics and continuous improvement processes to strengthen relationships and drive outcomes and accountability., • Determine and execute against key cultivation priorities with high-stakes higher education partners, including building and maintaining strong relationships and pipelines., • Build and strengthen authentic, mutually beneficial relationships with Presidents, Provosts, Deans, faculty, and staff to successfully steward current higher education partnerships, while cultivating dozens more, listening to and understanding their needs and priorities., • Partner with the Chief, External Affairs, to determine which conference Braven should attend, present at, and/or sponsor, attending conferences as needed to represent Braven at industry conferences, events, and meetings to build brand awareness and foster new relationships., • Provide leadership and coaching to the Higher Education Partnership (HEP) team, including the new sites team, HEP team, and the student recruitment team, inspiring and motivating them to take action and meet ambitious goals as they create the visions, strategies, systems, tools, and training for university partnerships and student recruitment., • Partner with the External Affairs team and the Regional Success teams to ensure strong student recruitment across university sites, specifically where structural enrollments are not in place, • Collaborate with Braven’s regional teams and other internal teams as needed to build the skills and mindsets needed to have strong relationships with our higher education partners.
