Job Description Only Love PPECC – Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center Location: McAllen, Texas Full-Time Position Overview Only Love PPECC is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee all clinical and nursing operations within our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center. This leadership role is critical to ensuring high-quality, compliant, and compassionate care for medically fragile and technologically dependent children. The ideal candidate will bring extensive Private Duty Nursing (PDN) experience, strong pediatric clinical expertise, and proven leadership in supervising nursing teams within highly regulated environments. Key Responsibilities • Oversee all nursing and direct care services provided at Only Love PPECC in accordance with physician orders and individualized plans of care, • Ensure full compliance with Texas HHSC PPECC regulations, including staffing ratios, daily census documentation, and required records, • Supervise, support, and evaluate all nursing and direct care staff, ensuring licensure, competencies, and ongoing education are current, • Review, audit, and verify daily clinical documentation to ensure adherence to prescribed care plans, • Conduct regular clinical audits, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed, • Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits, • Lead policy implementation, emergency preparedness, infection control, and clinical best practices, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity, safety, and quality of care, • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of nursing staff, • Promote Only Love PPECC’s mission, values, and family-centered care philosophy Required Qualifications Education • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Licensure & Certifications • Current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas, • CPR and Basic First Aid certification, • No history of disciplinary action Experience • Minimum three (3) years of pediatric nursing experience in an extended care, facility-based, or Private Duty Nursing setting, • At least one (1) year in a supervisory or nursing leadership role, • Extensive Private Duty Nursing (PDN) experience strongly required, particularly with medically fragile and technology-dependent children, • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, audits, and clinical oversight Skills & Competencies • Strong expertise in pediatric nursing care and supervision, • Deep understanding of PDN workflows, care coordination, and staffing models, • Proven ability to lead, train, and evaluate clinical teams, • Proficiency in documentation review, audits, and regulatory readiness, • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to make sound clinical decisions in fast-paced or high-acuity environments Physical & Work Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, • Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases, • Ability to respond to urgent clinical situations and emergency calls, • Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance Why Join Only Love PPECC?
