The practitioner is an essential member of the nursing leadership team who promotes the alignment of regional NPD and practice excellence with the HHC system. Job Responsibilities: The area of coverage for this position is Labor & Delivery/Maternal Newborn. Key areas of responsibility are: · Learning Facilitator: Uses the educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge the knowledge, skills and/or practice gaps identified through learning needs assessment and evaluation of outcomes. · Collaborative Partner: Collaborates with members of the nursing leadership team to assess learning needs, develops programs, monitors clinical competency and supports action plans. Represents nursing in the development of inter-professional learning activities. · Role Development: Promotes professional nursing practice and quality patient care according to the ANA standards of practice. Education: · BSN required and enrolled in a master’s program with degree completion within two years of hire date. Licensure, Certification, Registration: · Licensed Registered Nurse from the CT DPH obtained prior to hire date. · RNC-OB or C-EFM preferred. · Neonatal Resuscitation preferred. · NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire hire/transfer BLS required. · NPD Specialty certification preferred. Scans labs into Ebridge, • Enters patient information and cycle data into SART database, including cycle outcome., • Orders and maintains supplies as necessary., • Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures. Reviews relevant literature and attends in-services and meetings., • Functions as recovery room nurse after OR procedures in accordance with recovery room policy and procedure., • Other duties as assigned. HIPAA The NP will have access to PHI during the course of his/her work activities. The NP will use this information to prepare both patients and medical records for visits with the provider and to keep the flow of work going smoothly in the clinic.
