The major functions of this role are to provide recovery coaching and peer advocacy to the identified population. The Family Peer Advocate offers education about available substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services, harm reduction techniques and supplies as well as collateral and supportive services. The Family Peer Advocate works to reduce stigma through sharing of their own lived experience. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Establishes a respectful, trusting relationship with program participants., 2. Assists participants to identify and build on their strengths and resiliencies., 3. Assist the individual in identifying basic needs., 4. Conducts outreach and educational presentations on access to substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services with the identified population., 5. Conducts outreach and educational presentations on a range of collateral services such as healthcare, dentistry, psychiatry, rental and housing assistance, health insurance options, legal assistance, domestic violence victim’s services, vocational training and remedial education with the identified population., 6. Provides guidance and resources to help participants access desired services., 7. Maintains certification as opioid overdose reversal trainer., 8. Provides opioid overdose reversal training to program participants and distributes medication for opioid overdose reversal., 9. Delivers harm reduction education and provides harm reductions supplies such as fentanyl test strips, wound care kits and safer sex supplies., 10. Escorts persons served to appointments with service providers when desired., 11. Facilitates warm hand-offs with network service providers during transitions in care., 12. Provides recovery coaching services with the identified population., 13. Provides guidance, support and advocacy to facilitate engagement in recovery activities, treatment and collateral services., 14. Contributes to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of family support and recovery-related services and conducts all activities within this framework., 15. Maintains outreach and recovery services contact logs; documents services rendered., 16. Participates in-service training and scheduled supervision sessions. Job Description PART-TIME Need! MAJOR FUNCTION: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for overall operations of the medication administration process under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and the Consultant Pharmacist. The Staff on Duty teaches residents socially appropriate behavior by role-modeling. She/he must be a self-motivated individual who functions as part of a clinical environment which provides supportive services and resources to residents. The Staff on Duty is directly supervised by the Deputy Director of Operations/Deputy Director/Program Director. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct hourly facility runs and document findings on log sheets., • Maintain all necessary communication in the facility log book., • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility through daily supervision of residents assigned to housekeeping job functions., • Maintain updated resident database, bed sheets, and room assignments., • Ensure that all therapeutic activities are properly facilitated and begin and end in a timely fashion., • When assigned, facilitate and monitor morning meeting, • Participate in crisis intervention and provide close observation and supervision of residents in crisis., • Distribute legal letters, medical feedback and metro cards to residents., • Monitor all residents leaving and reentering the facility., • Address all resident medical needs via the medical on-call policy & procedure., • When necessary, conduct resident screening for contraband and conduct urine toxicology tests., • Complete all incident reports prior to the completion of shift., • Ensure that all residents sign the HRA sign in sheet on a daily basis., • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings., • Attend all required in-service training seminars., • Participate in quality improvement activities., • Other relevant duties as required. She/he is responsible for supporting all childcare workers, assistant teachers and teachers within oversight of job performance, guidance of all program employees and for the direct supervision of designated subordinate staff. She/he is responsible for maintaining compliance with New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, the Bureau of Childcare regulations and assuring that early educational services are delivered in accordance with Odyssey House organizational standards. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • The role of the Assistant Director of Education Services will be 50% administrative and 50% classroom support., • Support the Director of Educational Services in developing and monitoring program systems, policies, and procedures., • Support the Director of Educational Services in maintaining good relations with and act as liaison to the regulatory body, partnering agencies, referral sources, the community-at-large, and the corporate officers., • Prepare informational material and documents for prospective parents., • Supporting the teaching team in screening, assessment and school enrollment of all children newly admitted into the program., • Supervise the maintenance of adequate and up-to-date school records on all children, as well as supervise record keeping responsibilities of staff in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and Odyssey House policies., • Act as child advocate, assuring that all children’s rights are respected and that all parent’s grievances and complaints are addressed in a timely and equitable manner in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations., • Support the Director of Educational Services in ensuring coverage for the facility and maintain on-call telephone accessibility on an ongoing basis., • Support the Deputy Director of Educational Services in all personnel actions, including recruitment, hiring, evaluation, promotion, disciplinary action and separation of program staff., • Support the Deputy Director of Educational Services in assuring that all program staff members are adequately trained by providing and implementing formal orientation plans to all newly hired subordinate staff., • Managing and supporting the Pantry with overall maintenance, ordering and organization., • Observing classrooms and teaching staff and providing feedback in those observations.
