JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a versatile, solution-oriented, critically thinking Technician with high integrity and a positive mindset to join our team and travel the country solving problems for power generation clients to help keep everyone’s lights on. In this 100% remote role, you will travel to power generation and other industrial facilities, working under a Senior Technician, all across the United States helping to solve performance problems for our clients. When you are not working on a jobsite, you will be working from home, at the direction of the President, performing other critical functions such as writing final reports, creating work plans, developing and updating company procedures, maintaining equipment, and other administrative tasks. You will be involved in all aspects of our growing company with the expectation that you advance into a Lead Technician role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to travel, apply all of your technical skills, and play an integral role in the growth of our industry-leading power generation service company. OTHER DETAILS Job Succession: There are 3 levels of technicians in the company: Technician in Training ($30/hr), Junior Technician ($50/hr), Senior Technician ($75/hr). Technicians advance based on mastery of specific skills and acquisition of experience. Advancement from Technician in Training to Junior Technician can happen fairly quickly. Advancement to Senior Tech is largely experience based and could take much longer. Wages: Wages are set according to the levels above. You will be hired at the applicable level based on demonstrable experience. Overtime Pay: Overtime rate of 1.5x your hourly wage is paid after 8 hours each day. Overtime does not apply to travel time. Travel Pay: You will be paid $30/hr for all time spent traveling to and from a job location. Per Diem: You will be paid $75/day or published GSA rate for specific job location, whichever is higher – for meals and incidentals. Travel Expenses: All travel expenses including air travel, ground transport, lodging, and other expenses are paid for by StrongForce. RESPONSIBILITIES • Setup testing equipment with assistance, • Startup & tune testing equipment without direction and without damaging the equipment, • Operate & troubleshoot testing equipment without direction, • Support Senior Technician during testing, • Maintainence of testing equipment, • Maintain organized and clean work areas, • Assure all necessary equipment is functioning properly and prepare cases for mobilization, • Handle all transport of equipment to a jobsite without assistance, • Participate in pre-job and post-job briefings with clients to gather info, communicate results, instill confidence, and strengthen relationship, • Have high quality, professional interactions and communications with client personnel while performing services, • Keep complete, accurate, and detailed test notes, • Have a basic understanding of all applicable power plant systems, what to test, and how to test them, • Participate in technical discussions with Senior Technician / President to identify and solve problems while testing, • Successfully complete non-complex jobs by yourself with assistance of remote technology for access to Senior Technician / President, • Draft high quality final reports for review by Senior Technicians / President, • Create work plans, • Develop and update company procedures, • Prior power plant or equivalent trade / industry experience, • Is familiar with and can read P&IDs and other design plans, • Is solution-oriented with a positive mindset, • Has and can apply critical thinking skills to solve logistical and technical problems, • Maintains impeccable integrity, • Ability and willingness to be on-call to travel anywhere is the US with little or no notice for up to three weeks, • Ability to solve technical and logistical problems independently and in team environment, • Technology literate with Apple / Mac products, Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, mobile scanning to PDF, electronic timecards, and other work-related technologies, • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record; you will be on company vehicle insurance driving company and rental vehicles while travelling., • Must be authorized to work within the United States;, • Physically fit and health focused with the ability to frequently lift or move equipment and materials up to 100 lbs.;, • Ability to handle labor intense work including; crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, squatting, driving, sitting or standing (particularly for long periods of time);, • Ability and willingness to perform work at industrial facilities under extremely hot, cold, wet and/or noisy areas;, • Will submit to drug, background and clearance screenings (employment is contingent upon favorable results), • Oral & Written Comprehension & Expression – The ability to professionally communicate, listen and understand information and direction in English through spoken words and sentences; and the ability to read, write and understand information and ideas;, • Communication - The ability to communicate and interact professionally with client personnel of all levels from maintenance staff to Plant Managers., • Reasoning – The ability to apply common sense to carry out instruction and the ability to deal with problems in a wide range of complex situations., • Professionalism - Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times and especially when interacting with clients., • Learning - The ability to learn and retain the skills & abilities of Junior and Senior Technicians with the expectation of advancement., • Intelligence - The ability to learn, understand, and apply knowledge of all applicable power plant systems and testing operations sufficient to participate in technical problem solving with clients and Senior Technicians, • Problem Solving - The ability to identify an issue, gather and analyze information, formulate plans, and make decisions to resolve it, • Independence - The ability to rely on your own abilities without needing help to successfully complete objectives StrongForce is a growing company that provides industry-leading services geared toward improving plant performance and helping to keep power plants online.
