Job Description SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday SUMMARY: Family Service League is seeking a full-time Clinical Supervisor for our Mental Health Clinic in Central Islip. Supervisor will provide assistance to the Program Director in providing clinical and administrative oversight for an in an Article 31 mental health clinic. The Supervisor will be responsible for providing individual and group supervision, providing crisis intervention, monitoring documentation, assuring access to services, and providing direct service including individual and/or group therapy. This position will require an understanding of program outcomes, performance indicators, and program evaluation tools. As part of a therapeutic team within the agency they are expected to work closely with all direct and support staff including psychiatric staff to ensure the appropriate treatment interventions for the client and his/her family. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide individual and group therapy to a small caseload of adults, children, and adolescents with the full range of DSM diagnoses in a clinic setting, including co-occurring disorders., • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to staff, interns and limited permit holders., • Manage crisis situations as needed, including on call., • Responsible for ensuring the team’s delivery to provide families with the adequate resources that encourage development of skills necessary to improve overall functioning and reduction of hospitalizations., • Provide oversight of onsite toxicology testing., • Completion of all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record., • Audit charts according to NYS OMH and COA regulations., • Co-lead team meetings with the Program Director., • Assist the Program Director with the review and scheduling of clinic referrals., • Assist the Program Director to collect and act upon data related to key performance indicators., • Maximize program performance for client and staff satisfaction., • Encourage information exchange and cooperation from others both within, and outside of, the program., • Identify well qualified people that reflect labor market diversity, evaluate staff, and utilize progressive discipline to assist marginal or failing staff improve their work performance., • All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in social work or related field required. LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, Ph.D./PsyD or licensed professional in a related field required. Minimum of 3 years of prior experience working in a mental health clinic setting, including serving clients with co-occurring disorders and at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting required. Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and EHR experience required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. The right candidate has experience credentialing for pain management, chiropractic care, and physical therapy and understands the nuances related to which payors are responsible for credentialing and processing claims (For example BCBS goes through ASH for Chiropractic and directly through BCBS for Pain Management). We are looking for someone with experience around common pitfalls with credentialing, specifically Multiplan, Coventry, Magnacare casualty, and other PPOs that essentially steal money from workers compensation and no fault claims with no added benefit. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES Services will be provided to the individual through linkage and referral to appropriate community services. • Coordinate services with community providers, hospitals, and family members., • Complete comprehensive assessments, develop with the client care plan goals, • Monitor and document services provided and progression of goals, • Capture engagement of clients in detailed progress notes., • Make referrals to community and social support services., • Offering prevention and wellness support services QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience working with individuals living with a severe mental illness, • Knowledge of mental health terminology and community resources is a plus, • Experience in managing a full caseload, • Experience in managing time and productivity effectively and adhere to strict deadlines., • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, • Excellent communication and written skills, • Computer knowledge, including but not limited to Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, outlook, outlook calendar), • Ability to work as part of a team with co-workers and with other colleagues as necessary., • Experience working with a High level of comfort working with multiple electronic systems with ease., • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to relate/work with diverse groups, community agencies, schools, and the general public., • Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail., • Ability to follow directions and communicate well (orally and in writing), • Assume other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor of HH to complete tasks for the program. OR • Valid Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification with two years of experience in providing direct services to people with Serious Mental Illness, developmental disabilities, or alcoholism or substance abuse; or linking individuals with Serious Mental Illness, developmental disabilities, or alcoholism, or substance abuse to a broad range of services essential to successful living in a community setting (e.g., medical, psychiatric, social, educational, legal, housing, and financial services)., • A master's degree in one of the listed education fields may be substituted for one year of experience.
