Within BronxWorks Legal Services, the Tenant Defense Program plays a vital role in securing housing stability by representing low-income tenants in eviction proceedings and advocating for essential public benefits to preserve affordable housing. The program supports New York City’s groundbreaking Universal Access to Counsel initiative, which ensures low-income tenants the right to full legal representation in eviction proceedings. The role is designed to provide professional development opportunities for attorneys with at least three years of experience, who are still building toward supervisory roles and includes a salary increase above the staff attorney scale. In addition to handling casework and meeting other staff attorney responsibilities, the Senior Attorney will work closely with a supervising attorney to mentor junior staff and law graduates. This includes accompanying law graduates to court, signing stipulations, pleadings, and motions on their behalf, and offering guidance on case strategy, legal research, and court filings. Moreover, the Senior Attorney will support the professional growth of less experienced staff through mentorship and training and provide constructive feedback. They will also assist in leading legal team meetings, CLE trainings, and strategic planning sessions. Job Description THE ORGANIZATION The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. Since 1996, we’ve worked alongside communities, courts, and those most directly affected by the justice system to build stronger, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods. With a team of over 900 staff and an annual budget of $130 million, the Center carries out its mission through three core strategies: • Operating Programs that pilot new ideas and address local challenges;, • Conducting original research to evaluate what works—and what doesn’t; and THE OPPORTUNITY Neighborhood Safety Initiatives (NSI), a program of the Center, is seeking a Program and Facilities Coordinator to support the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) crime prevention grant. Underway since 2015 and led by the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice/Office of Neighborhood Safety, MAP is a comprehensive strategy to enhance public safety and strengthen community well-being in 13 public housing developments across New York City. The Center is a key implementation partner in MAP’s NeighborhoodStat, a resident-driven, community organizing initiative Since 2016, citywide and local meetings have been convened to share information and data, facilitate community engagement to identify neighborhood priorities, enhance the quality of life and spur collaboration and accountability among city agencies and local stakeholders. NSI is working to advance the advocacy process by assisting each of 30 designated communities to convene local stakeholder groups. Stakeholder teams activities include to collaboratively identify community conditions, prioritize local initiatives, access and analyze data, identify and leverage resources, improve resident capacity through trainings; and implement participatory place keeping projects and policy recommendations that address structural racism, local concerns and enhance public safety, reduce victimization, promoting healing and improves well-being. The ATI Court, which is led by Administrative Judge Ellen Biben, seeks to forge a new response to individuals charged with felonies by linking them to community-based social services. The Court is the first of its kind, providing an innovative model for other jurisdictions seeking to develop and implement meaningful post-conviction sentencing options for individuals facing felony charges. Reporting to the Senior Social Worker of Jail Diversion, the Social Worker, will be responsible for conducting independent clinical assessments and drafting treatment recommendations for defendants being held in pretrial detention. The Social Worker will conduct these assessments and complete these treatment plans according to a strict timeline, ensuring that the process is completed as quickly as possible. The goal is to provide information that will enable defense attorneys, prosecutors, and judges to resolve cases as quickly as possible, significantly reducing the time people spend in pretrial detention. An essential and dynamic feature of the Social Worker’s role will be close collaboration with key external stakeholders. They will work regularly with New York City defense organizations and other defense attorneys, prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, staff at the Department of Correction and Correctional Health Services, the judge and court staff from New York County Supreme Court who oversee the Felony ATI Court, and an array of community-based alternative to incarceration and community-based providers. Court-based clinical work is an exciting, unique and demanding area of practice, and the Social Worker role involves navigating and constructively engaging with differing and, at times, competing stakeholder perspectives. BOB Management Consultation is a unique and exciting opportunity within Spring Health high quality consultations regarding workplace concerns to account human resource representatives, management, and employees. This role will report to the Spring Health Clinical Manager. What you'll be doing: Provide management consultation that enhances employee wellbeing and workplace effectiveness from the hours of 10am -6pm ET, but you may sit out of any time zone. • Coordinate critical incident response requests, • Deliver virtual critical incident response requests, • Complete management referral intakes according to established guidelines; assure appropriate placement of management referred employees; provide guidance regarding EAP protocols to counselors working with employees., • Complete daily shifts on an incoming queue and meet speed to answer service level agreement requirements., • Provide follow-up to monitor employee compliance and feedback to supervisors, HR/Managers., • Confirm that necessary paperwork is in place to both providers, HR/Managers including signed releases in order to coordinate follow-up with treatment providers, and other necessary HR/Managers., • Provide limited after care monitoring (following up with employees and/or providers to ensure the safety of employees and continuation of treatment)., • Assess for risk and manage member and organizational crises by providing in-the-moment support, triage, safety planning, and follow up., • Identify and problem-solve issues that serve as a barrier or disruption to care, with support from leadership. What we expect from you: • LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist with minimum of 3 years experience (independent licensure required), • SAP qualified preferred, • CEAP certification preferred, • Supervisory experience and/or experience working with management and human resource professionals preferred, • Crisis management and SUD experience, • Familiarity with basic terminology and concepts used in employee assistance/human services programs, • EAP experience, • Experience delivering and coordinating critical incident response required, • Experience working with diverse populations (bilingual preferred), • Knowledge of healthcare settings and community resources, • Tech and computer savvy: very comfortable adopting new technologies and platforms. and efficient in tech-related tasks, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Don't meet every requirement? Reporting to the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis and Chief of Staff to the CFO, the Senior Finance Engineer will play a critical role in designing and scaling the technical infrastructure that powers our finance organization. This is a highly strategic, hands-on role bridging software engineering and financial strategy. You will architect resilient, AI-powered systems to modernize finance operations, improve forecasting accuracy, accelerate close cycles, and reduce manual work through scalable systems and intelligent automation. This is a full-time hybrid role based out of our NYC office, with the expectation of 3 days in office.
