Job DescriptionDescription: The Physical Therapist at Clarke School is part of a dynamic team of therapists who support deaf and hard of hearing children and their parents in a center based EI and Preschool program. The PT is responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and conducting pediatric physical therapy sessions to facilitate growth in gross motor development. The PT also administers evaluations and assessments to determine a child’s level of gross motor function relative to age. The PT will develop a treatment plan and monitor progress for each child on his/her caseload. The PT also provides support in the classrooms to insure teachers, assistant teachers and other related service providers have the skill and information about strategies and needs to support all children in the development of healthy motor development. Job Description Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher The Goddard School, NYC has locations on both the Upper West Side and Upper East Side. We are a school, not a daycare center. We are committed to providing the highest level of stimulating development and warm nurturant care for Infants, and an age-appropriate curriculum for One Year-Olds and up in our Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. Our schools are state-of-the-art facilities with many large sun-filled rooms. We are seeking an assistant teacher for our preschool classroom to start as soon as possible! Educational Qualifications All candidates, who wish to be considered for the position of Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher must meet one or more of the following criteria, in addition to any/all requirements that may be mandated by their state and/or local licensing authorities: • An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, • A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education A Lead Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment, • Advancing children’s physical and intellectual competence, • Supporting each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance, • Establishing positive and effective family relations and communication, • Ensuring an effective program, responsive to children’s needs, • Maintaining professional commitment, • Ability to lift objects of up to 30 lbs. without assistance, • Ability to implement requirements of Department of Health standards, • Prepare timely notation of developmental milestones of each student, • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting BSECDC's mission through the provision of high-quality early education and child development services. In collaboration with the Group Teacher, the Assistant Teacher will execute developmentally appropriate activities, cultivate a supportive classroom environment, and assess children's developmental progress.
