Job Description Title: Group Leader Reports To: Program Director, MS 363 Location: 120 East 184th Street, Bronx, NY 10468 Hours: Up to 20 hours/Week; Non-Exempt; Schedule: School Year / September - June / Monday - Friday, 2pm to 6pm Salary: $18.00 - $19.00/ hour Job Summary: The After School Group Leader is responsible for the overall safety, development, management, organization and planning of their group. This includes integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group building activities. Major Duties: * Overall supervision and management of identified group of participants. * Engage participants in after school activities and role model appropriate behavior. * Ensure safety of participants at all times. * As needed, engage in outreach activities to ensure attendance and participation. * Provide support to activity instructors and other group leaders. * Develop and facilitate a sequenced and thematic curriculum and other various activities including arts & crafts. Curriculum should promote creativity, self-expression, opportunity for mastery, and emotional growth and future focus/career exploration as well as professional growth. * Integrate lessons enriched with literacy, history and other related academic subjects when applicable. * Develop positive relationships with participants, colleagues and school/center personnel. * Attends all staff meetings and staff development trainings sessions, as specified (including Saturday and evening trainings). * Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program and upholding the afterschool model. * Plan and prepare culminating events for participants to showcase their activities. * Ensure participants are prepared and able to illustrate what they learned in culminating events. * Assist with organizing parent family culminating engagement events. * Engage with parents and guardians as necessary in a professional manner. * Discuss behavior problems , safety concerns and situations with supervisor as they emerge, and completing necessary documentation and paperwork. * Mandated Reporter. * Resolve conflict within your group while seeking assistance from other staff, supervisors and directors when necessary. * Foster a positive youth development approach focusing on , strength’s-based environment, fostering a sense of belonging, independence, generosity, mastery safety, and community to participants. * Supervise support staff assigned to your group (including but not limited to assistant group leader, interns, volunteers, etc.). * Track and support participant’s development and growth areas. Engage and facilitate group conversations, tracking and supporting students’ participant’s academic success. * Responsible for the safe arrival and dismissal of all program participants. * Demonstrate effective classroom management skills. * Inspect all facilities, equipment, and supplies and be sure all are locked away securely at the end of each day. * Available to work during holidays and OST days (13-15 days). * Maintain all required records for your group, including attendance.. * Maintain strict adherence to policies and procedures at all times. * Participate in afterschool events and trips. * Perform other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, on-site position, located in Brooklyn, New York. It is a multi-faceted role in a highly collaborative environment that will require strong leadership and focused execution in pursuit of maximizing production outputs, on-time customer shipping and overall robust manufacturing processes. Shift Timing: Second shift is currently defined as 11:00am-7:30pm. This timing will shift to 3:00pm-11:30pm within ~6 months. During training, the 2nd shift production supervisor will occasionally be required to work 1st shift (7:00am-3:30pm). Hours may vary depending on company requirements. Responsibilities: · Organizes, and leads production operations and associated production activities to drive production target while maintaining quality, cost, and customer service expectations within a safe working environment. · Manages a team of production technicians. · Manages production KPIs including, labor budget, yield, and OEE, and ensures target production metrics are met. · Communicates production results and challenges. Troubleshoots and implements solutions to issues quickly and efficiently to avoid potential delays. · Ensures all tasks associated with manufacturing operations are performed in accordance to cGMP and SOPs, and ensures batch record requirements are completed in a timely manner. · Supervises all aspects of production, including the assembly, disassembly, cleaning, and storage of manufacturing equipment, the cleaning of the cleanroom facility, formulation, filling/finishing, and product shipping operations related to the second shift of technicians. · Acts as a subject matter expert on Manufacturing Practices, including in aseptic behaviors and practices. · Implements continuous improvement, leveraging expertise in Six Sigma, Lean, or Toyota Production System (TPS) approaches. · Adheres to all workplace safety laws, regulations, standards and practices and actively advances a culture of safety within their team and organization. · Resolves or escalates any problem occurring in the area that affects product quality, safety, and other aspects of production line performance. · Demonstrates the ability to properly operate equipment, perform equipment set-up/change-over/cleanups, assist in preventative maintenance and troubleshoots equipment problems to achieve optimum production targets. · Establishes a working environment that fosters participation within and between teams. · Hires, trains, develops, disciplines, and discharge production technicians. · Develops, mentors, and supports production technicians in assisting continuous improvement efforts, improving employee engagement, and supporting business growth. · Ensures compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements and participates in timely investigations and implementation of corrective and preventative action. · Ensures records are maintained per SOPs and cGMP requirements. · Generates production batch procedural documentation, manages change assessments, and nonconformance reports. · Creates, updates, reviews, and maintains production-related SOPs. · Reviews and approves documents, including standard operating procedures, batch records, and material specifications. · Leads the execution of and training for newly transferred or existing products and processes. · Leads and assists with the continuous improvement of production operations and procedural documentation. · Organizes and leads initial and on-going training of new and existing personnel. · Maintains appropriate inventory of production supplies and materials. · Ensures on time delivery and quality through accurate work order completions, on time shipping, and accuracy of inventory consumption. · Other responsibilities as required or assigned by management. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus on science or engineering is preferred. S/he ensures the quality and timely provision of a wide range of therapeutic interventions to address the trauma symptoms of the child/youth. The Sociotherapist Supervisor ensures the individualized behavioral and emotional needs of children and youth are addressed on a weekly basis for the purpose of improving the child’s/youth’s daily functioning in the home, school and community. The Sociotherapist Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of all Foster Care Standards and for ensuring the strengths and challenges of children and youth are addressed within the framework of the ABC Model for Behavioral Plans, the Individualized Crisis Mangement Plan, Sanctuary S.E.L.F Model, Trauma Informed Practice, and Youth Development principles. The Sociotherapist Supervisor models a collaborative approach to practice by ensuring sociotherapists communicate, understand, and integrate information from interdisciplinary team members in response to the child’s/youth’s needs. The Sociotherapist Supervisor ensures treatment foster parents are implementing a trauma informed approach to the child/youth in their home and are effectively utilizing the pronciples of the ABC Model. Responsibilities Include: • Clinically and Administratively supervise Sociotherapists., • Ensure Sociotherapists are responding to crisis and risk situations in a timely and urgent manner as appropriate., • Conduct weekly supervision to review and monitor Sociotherapist’s contacts and documentation for compliance with Administration for Children Services (ACS) and State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) standards., • Conduct monthly group supervision to assess overall team practice and performance, to enhance staff development through discussion of current trends, to develop strategies to address challenges, and to celebrate successes., • Collaborate with EFFC Supervisors on shared cases., • Provide guidance and development of critical thinking skills to ensure best practice of service provision, crisis management, and medical and mental health needs. This may inlcude, but not be limited to, mental health assessments, activity/recreational therapies, behavior plans, mental health and other crisis intervention services. Ensure that all recommendations made by clinicians are implemented., • Review sociotherapist’s documentation and approve before finalized in Connections., • Review and ensure all behavioral plans are current and documented in Connections., • Inform, train and monitor Sociotherapists on foster care standards and youth development skill building. This includes the development and implementation of individualized ABC Behavioral Plans, Individual Crisis Intervention Plans, Safety Plans, and Treatment Plans as needed., • Supervise Sociotherapist’s collaboration with the case planner regarding behavioral and emotional issues presented in the foster home and in family visitation., • Ensure Sociotherapist, foster parent and youth participation in the development of Behavior Plans., • Attend Family Team Conferences and ensure the attendance of the Sociotherapist, treatment foster parent and youth at the Family Treatment Conference. Ensure that applicable Action Plans developed during FTCs are implemented., • Supervise the monitoring of a foster parent’s ability to provide therapeutic services and environment to childen and youth and that they understand and effectively utilize behavior plans., • Facilitate Quarterly Foster Parent Meetings, including Sociotherapists, to further collaboration with foster parents, to reinforce expectations of therapeutic treatment of youth and use of the Behavior Plans, address any issues pertaining to sociotherapist services, and to update any practice and policy initiatives., • Review and approve Sociotherapist’s documentation for FASPS, Permanency Hearing Reports, and court reports., • Ensure Sociotherapist’s attendance at all agency mandated trainings and supervises the Sociotherapist in the integration training into practice.
