Job DescriptionData Entry Specialist – ERP & Inventory Management Position Overview The Data Entry Specialist – ERP & Inventory Management plays a critical role in maintaining accurate, real-time production and inventory data within an ERP system. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring data integrity across production lines, inventory locations, and order tracking systems. The role requires close collaboration with production, warehouse, and finance teams and a strong commitment to data accuracy, reconciliation, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced shop floor environment. Work Schedule & Shifts • Onsite, shift-based position operating five days per week (Monday–Saturday), • Available shifts include:, • 2nd Shift: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., • 3rd Shift: 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., • Initial Training:, • Conducted on 1st Shift (approximately 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), • Training duration: 4–6 weeks before transition to assigned shift Primary ResponsibilitiesERP & Data Entry • Accurately execute ERP transactions to support daily production and inventory operations, • Open and close process orders daily to ensure proper production tracking, • Perform order entry and update inventory records in real time, • Ensure all shop floor production data is entered accurately and promptlyInventory Tracking & Reconciliation, • Perform inventory reconciliations across systems to ensure data consistency, • Conduct bin counts and support ongoing inventory accuracy initiatives, • Use handheld scanners to track inventory movements and production activity, • Analyze discrepancies in work-in-process (WIP), raw materials, and rework flows, • Complete shift-to-shift and daily production reconciliations across all linesData Analysis & Process Support, • Review production data for errors or inconsistencies and correct issues in real time, • Identify recurring data issues and support root-cause analysis, • Develop and maintain job aids, workflow documentation, and training materials, • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to data accuracy and reportingCross-Functional Collaboration, • Work closely with production supervisors, warehouse staff, and finance teams, • Communicate data discrepancies clearly and assist with investigation and resolution, • Hands-on experience working with an ERP system (Aptean experience preferred, not required), • Strong data entry skills with a demonstrated focus on accuracy and efficiency, • Experience with inventory and order data entry in a production or ERP-driven environment, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and functions, • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems, • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, • Ability to analyze production and inventory data and correct discrepancies, • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, overnights, and weekends, • Experience performing inventory reconciliation and bin counts, • Familiarity with handheld scanners and shop floor data capture tools, • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, • Ability to create clear, user-friendly documentation and job aids, • Manufacturing shop floor and office-based work environment, • Frequent use of ERP software, Microsoft Excel, desktop computers, and handheld scanners, • Fast-paced, collaborative setting with frequent interaction across departments, • Critical role supporting production and inventory accuracy, • Hands-on ERP and shop floor exposure, • Opportunity to contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency This is a Contract position based out of Bay Shore, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
