Job Description POSITION SUMMARY In this role, you'll independently identify, cultivate, and close new business opportunities while building lasting relationships with mission-driven organizations that need exceptional accounting, consulting, and HR services. This is a high-impact position where your creativity, sales acumen, and passion for the nonprofit sector will directly contribute to our growth. You’ll play a key role in shaping our go-to market approach, strengthening alignment between sales and marketing, and enabling more organizations to focus on their missions while we handle their back-office operations. Initially an individual contributor role, this position offers the opportunity to help shape and scale the firm’s business development function over time. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Generation & Outreach • Leverage ZoomInfo and other sales-enablement tools to build targeted contact lists of nonprofit decision-makers and utilize HubSpot Sales to develop, manage, and execute multi-touch outreach sequences that drive engagement and move prospects through the sales funnel, • Independently identify, cultivate, and manage a portfolio of qualified leads, converting opportunities into closed sales through strategic relationship-building and consultative selling, • Own revenue targets and contribute to pipeline health and forecasting, providing regular insights to leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities, • Develop relationships with all clients that will generate a sustainable multi-year book of business, including sourcing new leads through networking, outreach, and referral opportunities, • In consultation with leadership, support the design and execution of a client development and go-to-market strategy that identifies the greatest areas of opportunity and effective approaches to reach priority markets, • Qualify leads and articulate our value proposition through consultative selling, understanding client pain points around back-office operations and positioning our accounting and HR services as solutions, • Manage outbound email campaigns using HubSpot Sales, tracking interactions and key metrics, and generating regular reports on lead status, sequence performance, and outcomes, • Create compelling, customized business development presentations and proposals, collaborating with internal teams to ensure proposals are responsive, competitive, and aligned with client needs, • Represent the firm at nonprofit sector conferences, convenings, and networking events; stay current on sector trends and challenges that create opportunities for our services, • Partner with the marketing team to support the development and refinement of sales collateral, including pitch decks, one-pagers, and service-specific materials tailored to nonprofit audiences, • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM data integrity, and reporting systems to support firm-wide strategic objectives and KPIs, • A healthy, well-managed pipeline of qualified nonprofit prospects that support consistent progress toward revenue targets and sales performance, • Strong alignment between sales and marketing, resulting in effective collateral, resonant messaging, and credible client case studies, • Trusted relationships with nonprofit leaders that lead to long-term, multi-service client engagements, • 7-10 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably selling accounting services, with steadily increasing responsibility and proven ability to work independently, • Demonstrated track record in B2B sales with specific examples of pipeline built, deals closed, and long-term client relationships developed, • Advanced proficiency in HubSpot Sales, including expertise in creating and optimizing automated email sequences, workflows, and sales cadences; ability to A/B test messaging, analyze sequence performance, and refine approaches based on engagement data, • Experience with ZoomInfo or similar prospecting tools to identify and build targeted contact lists, define ideal client profiles, and execute systematic outreach campaigns, • Deep understanding of nonprofit sector challenges and familiarity with back-office pain points; We offer a competitive and holistic total rewards package that includes salary, bonus, and benefits. The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $165,000 plus an annual discretionary bonus. We consider national benchmark indicators along with job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS This position can be hybrid in New York, or remote from Washington, DC, if outside a commuting distance to an office. We expect that after their initial onboarding, all staff will have the choice of two hybrid schedules.
