Job DescriptionDescription: Pain Specialists of America Pain Specialists of America ("PSA" ) is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management company that includes over 15 locations, three ASCs and one laboratory in New Braunfels. PSA is growing rapidly. We require highly competent, talented professionals who can support the business and help it achieve its strategic objectives. We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center will perform a variety of duties to ensure that quality nursing care is provided in maintaining an atmosphere allowing for the privacy, dignity and well-being of patients. Being compassionate and sensitive is a prerequisite of the profession. The ideal candidate goes one step further by being a critical thinker and acting fast in emergencies. Job Location 2701 E. Stan Schlueter Loop, Suite 100 Killeen, TX 76542 PSA Benefits: • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, • 401k + 4% company match, • Short & Long-Term Disability, • HSA (w/company contribution) or FSA, • Life Insurance (company paid + voluntary options), • PTO, • 10 Paid Holidays for the Year 2025, • Prepare your patients’ care area adequately and ensure necessary equipment and supplies and provided, • You will demonstrate proper airway management techniques, • Monitor your patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.)., • You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks, • Perform and document head to toe evaluation of your patients utilizing an approved scoring system in line with policy and procedure, • Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon, • Provide a safe and comforting environment for your patients and family, • Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria, • Ensures that physician orders are followed for all patients, • Applies knowledge, skill and judgment to provide excellent and focused patient care, • Promotes and participates in providing accurate recording of medications and treatments given to patients, • Post-anesthesia nursing practice includes systematic continuous assessment of the patient’s condition, and collection, documentation, and communication of vital data, • Continuously measures patient progress toward designated outcomes and revises Care Plan and interventions as necessary, • Reports significant observations and information to the physician, anesthesiologist and/or CRNA, • Assesses the patient response immediately post operatively; reports pertinent information; performs appropriate interventions and evaluates patient response, • Promotes the improvement of nursing care within the Center, • Conforms to and promotes acceptance of established objectives, policies, and procedures, • Assists in maintaining a stock of supplies and equipment for the Center, and promotes proper utilization of all, • Maintains Center drugs and reorders as needed; observes for outdated stock and follows proper disposal procedures; maintains emergency cart, equipment and medications, • Evaluates the performance of assigned co-workers, reporting process or need for improvement to the Administrator, • Follows the chain of command, communicating reportable situations to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner, • Maintains confidentiality of management information, displays discretion and good judgment in communication methods, • Adheres to all approved Center policies and procedures; notifies supervisor of any deviation from approved policy, • Assists in the orientation of new employees to the Center, • Displays ability to accept counseling from direct supervisor in a positive manner, • Displays ability to and desire to initiate corrective action, • Becomes familiar with Center’s Fire, Safety, and Disaster Plan, and his/her role in the event of each, • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, • Current registration with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, • Evidence of current BLS certification, • Evidence of current ACLS certification; or certification within six months of hire, • Maintains satisfactory attendance, notifies supervisor if unable to report to work, • Punctual in arriving for duty on assigned days, • Follow facility and regulatory policies and procedures, • Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds., • Ability to stand for extended periods, • Fine motor skills
