Job Description Summary The Learning Lodge is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and energetic Childcare Teacher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for children. This position requires professionalism, reliability, and the ability to meet Texas Child Care Licensing standards. Duties 🏢 Leadership Operations • Oversee daily operations of the childcare center, • Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing standards, • Develop and enforce center policies and procedures, • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment, • Manage classroom ratios and staff scheduling, • Conduct staff meetings and performance evaluations👩🏽️🏫 Staff Management Development, • Hire, train, and supervise teachers and support staff, • Ensure staff complete required annual training hours, • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development, • Address disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans, • Maintain staff files and licensing documentation📚 Curriculum Program Oversight, • Oversee implementation of age-appropriate curriculum, • Monitor classroom lesson plans and daily schedules, • Support positive behavior management strategies, • Ensure developmental milestones are being tracked, • Promote engaging, hands-on learning experiences👨️👩️👧 Parent Community Relations, • Build strong relationships with families, • Conduct tours and manage enrollment processes, • Address parent concerns professionally and promptly, • Maintain consistent communication regarding policies and updates💼 Administrative Financial Management, • Manage enrollment and attendance records, • Oversee billing, tuition payments, and financial reporting, • Maintain required licensing paperwork and inspections, • Prepare reports for state agencies and funding programs (CCS, etc.)🛑 Safety Compliance, • Ensure all health and safety standards are followed, • Conduct emergency drills (fire, severe weather, lockdown), • Maintain incident/accident reports, • Ensure background checks and required clearances are completed Requirements 🎓 EducationMust meet Texas Child Care Licensing minimum standards, typically including: • High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement), • AND ONE of the following:, • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential, • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, • Required college coursework in child development/early childhood education, • Director’s Credential (preferred)🧑🏽️🏫 Experience, • Minimum experience working in a licensed childcare center, • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred, • Experience with enrollment management and staff supervision, • Knowledge of classroom management and curriculum planning📜 Licensing Certifications, • Must meet all Texas Child Care Licensing Director qualifications, • Background check clearance, • CPR First Aid certification, • Completion of required annual training hours, • Familiarity with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers💼 Skills Competencies, • Strong leadership and team management skills, • Excellent communication and parent relations, • Organizational and administrative ability, • Knowledge of state regulations and compliance procedures, • Ability to manage budgets and daily operations Nice To Haves While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field, • Director’s Credential or Childcare Administrator Credential, • 2+ years of leadership or center management experience, • Experience with CCS (Child Care Services) and subsidy programs, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills, • Experience increasing enrollment and marketing childcare programs, • Knowledge of budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting, • Experience preparing for licensing inspections and audits, • Strong conflict resolution and team-building skills, • Familiarity with curriculum systems (Frog Street, Creative Curriculum, etc.), • Social media or community outreach experience Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications Paid training and professional development opportunities Supportive and positive team environment Opportunities for advancement and leadership growth Consistent Monday–Friday schedule Discounted childcare (if applicable) Performance-based bonuses (if offered) Paid holidays (if applicable) Paid time off (after eligibility period)
