Under the direction of the Program Director, the State PreK Teacher is responsible for meeting the developmental needs of children ages four and five years of age in a group setting. Conduct parent teacher conferences twice yearly as scheduled and more often as needed.

Minimum of 6 months experience working in a licensed child care. Assist any child who needs fed/changed/taken care of, etc. Maintain the classroom environment to support smooth transitions and the independent learning of children.

Position will involve specialized duties including: assisting Teacher with daily instruction, utilizing existing lesson plans to facilitate small and large group instruction, communicating with families, participating in daily classroom routine, and leading afternoon latchkey program.

Communicate all concerns and provide written documentation of all concerns to Lead Teacher/Director. Conduct parent teacher conferences twice yearly as schedule and more often as needed. Plan and complete in-service hours as required by KDHE and as requested by Teacher/Director.

The Assistant Teacher shall assume the lead classroom role when the Teacher is absent. Redirect parent concerns to the classroom Teacher and/or Teacher/Director. Record observations as directed by Teacher for developmental progress and behavior concerns.
