Job Description Overview The Senior FP&A Manager of Merchandising will play a key role in supporting our Merchandising organization through financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business partnership. This role will report directly to Sr Director FP&A and maintain a dotted-line partnership with the Chief Merchant, ensuring close alignment between financial strategy and merchandising priorities. This position will support category financial performance, provide actionable insights, and drive decision support that aligns with product, pricing, and assortment strategies. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and skilled in connecting financial outcomes to business drivers across cross-functional teams. Duties and Responsibilities • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values, • Serve as the strategic finance partner for the Merchandising team, • Support annual budgeting, in-season forecasts, and long-range planning for categories and assortments, • Analyze financial models to support merchandise planning and decision-making, • Analyze category performance, sales trends, margin drivers, and inventory productivity, • Conduct variance analysis and highlight key drivers, risks, and opportunities, • Provide insights on promotions, pricing actions, and product strategy, • Prepare presentations and reporting for Merchandising leadership and Executive team, • Support development and improvement of FP&A processes, tools, and reporting, • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, • 7+ years of experience in FP&A or financial/business analysis, with at least 2–3 years within retail or consumer products industry., • Strong financial modeling, analysis, and Excel skills, • Ability to present financial insights clearly and support data-driven decisions, • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally, • Working knowledge of the Open to Buy (OTB) process and merchandise financial planning concepts, • Familiarity with Power BI, Power Pivot, Snowflake, Sigma, Tableau, Power Query, and/or SQL, • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and initiative, • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, • Ability to simplify and communicate complex financial information, • Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement Cavender’s is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
