BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT MANAGER REPORTS TO:Director of Family Solutions SUPERVISES:Behavioral Support Coordinators (BSCs) QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelors or Mastersdegree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral science, ora relatedfieldrequired., • Licensed or credentialed in a mental or behavioral health field preferred, including LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, BCBA, or other qualifiedmentalhealth credentials., • Minimum of three years of experience in behavioral health, mental healthservices, case management, residential care, ora relatedfield preferred., • Experience supervising behavioral health, direct care staff, ormental healthsupport professionals preferred., • Direct experience working with at-risk youth, foster care populations, trauma, or individuals with behavioral and emotional challenges preferred., • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, behavioral management strategies, child/adolescent development, and community-based behavioral health services preferred., • Strong leadership, communication, documentation, organizational, and collaboration skillsrequired., • Must acknowledge and uphold the Christ-centered mission and Statement of Faith of Hope Haven of East Texas. PRIMARY PURPOSE The Behavioral Support Manageris responsible forthe oversight, leadership, and coordination of behavioral support services in a residential treatment setting, as well as non-residential behavioral support services provided through Family Solutions. This role ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, client-centered behavioral interventions while supporting staff in the implementation of coping skill development, emotional regulation strategies, behavioral intervention plans, and individualized support services. The Behavioral Support Manager provides direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to Behavioral Support Coordinators while collaborating closely with therapists, nursing staff, case managers, residential staff, and external providers to promote safety, healing, stability, and long-term success for youth and families served. This position also ensures compliance with agency policies, DFPS standards, Medicaid requirements, and best practices in behavioral health services. The Behavioral Support Manager is expected to maintaindirect service responsibilities and spendapproximately25-40% of their time carrying a caseload(10-15 clients)to provide skills training, case management services, intake assessments, behavioral support interventions, and supportive services for residential and non-residential clients. This position is also responsible for conducting regular 1:1 supervision and support meetings with staff,facilitatingteam-building activities, promoting healthy workplace culture, and supporting employee engagement and professional growth. The Behavioral Support Manager will help lead and present personal wellness initiatives, trainings, and activities that support staff mental health, resilience, self-care, and overall wellness. COMPENSATION STATUS Full-Time / Salaried (Exempt) GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to Behavioral Support Coordinators to ensure interventions are effective, ethical, trauma-informed, and aligned with individualized client needs., • Monitor the emotional and behavioral needs of residents and non-residential clients, intervening during crisis situations andassistingwith de-escalation when necessary., • Ensure consistent implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs), coping strategies, and behavioral support interventions for each client served., • Maintain a direct caseload and provide behavioral health skills training, case management services, intake assessments, behavioral interventions, and supportive services for residential and non-residential clients., • Work collaboratively with the treatment team to support behavioral modification goals, emotional regulation, and healthy coping skill development., • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with therapists, caseworkers, foster care staff, schools, medical providers, and external agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated care approach., • Train, guide, and support staff in trauma-informed care, behavioral management techniques, emotional regulation strategies, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution., • Conduct regular 1:1meetingswith staff to provide support, accountability, professional development, and performance feedback., • Facilitate team-building activities and staff engagement initiatives that promote collaboration, connection, morale, and workplace wellness., • Lead orassistwith personal wellness presentations, trainings, and activities that support staff self-care, mental wellness, resilience, and healthy work-life balance., • Ensure compliance with Texas DFPS standards, Medicaid requirements, Hope Haven of East Texas policies, and behavioral health best practices., • Act as an advocate for youth and families, ensuring emotional, psychological, and behavioral needs are addressed within a structured, compassionate, and supportive environment., • Provide crisis intervention and on-call support when necessary, responding to emergencies such as self-harm incidents, runaway risks, emotional outbursts, suicidal ideation, or behavioral escalations., • Monitor staff interactions with residents and clients to ensure approachesremaintherapeutic, respectful, compassionate, andappropriate., • Oversee and ensure proper documentation of behavioral services, incidents, progress notes, debriefing strategies, assessments, and client progressin accordance withregulatory and agency requirements., • Facilitate positive transitions for youth moving to foster placements, reunification, independent living, or step-down levels of care., • Coordinate closely with the Director of Family Solutions through regular 1:1 meetings, leadership meetings, quarterly reviews, and ongoing collaboration to support program growth, staff development, and quality of services., • Participate in staff meetings,trainings, supervision, and ongoing professional development opportunities to strengthen leadership and behavioral health practices., • Lead EBI training and behavioral support education initiatives for Hope Haven of East Texas staff as assigned., • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the safety, well-being, and success of youth, families, and staff., • POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES, • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team., • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, behavioral management strategies, and emotional regulation techniques for youth with histories of trauma, neglect, and abuse., • Ability to recognize, assess, and respond appropriately to behavioral health crises including self-harm, suicidal ideation, aggression, emotional dysregulation, and runaway risk., • Knowledge of Texas DFPS regulations, residential treatment standards, Medicaid expectations, and behavioral health documentation requirements., • Ability tomaintainprofessionalism, composure, and sound judgment duringhigh-stress, emergency, or crisis situations., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with youth, staff, families, schools, community providers, and external agencies., • Ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships with youth and families whilemaintaininghealthy professional boundaries., • Proficiency in behavioral documentation, behavioral data collection, incident reporting, and electronic record systems., • Ability to organize priorities, manage time effectively, and balance leadership responsibilities with direct client care expectations., • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed., • Ability toestablishand maintain positive collaborative relationships with community agencies, schools, law enforcement, medical providers, and external partners., • Must period, during which the agency and employee will evaluate the effectiveness of the role and working relationship.
