The Role The District Merchandising & Product Lead is a strategic and operational role that owns inventory flow, product movement, and visual merchandising across three stores in the Tacoma District (Purpose Women, Purpose Men, and Sincere by Purpose). You'll be responsible for ensuring each store has optimal inventory levels, moving product where it performs best, executing our See-Hear-Feel visual standards, and partnering with store managers to drive sales and margin performance. This is a high-impact role for someone who loves analyzing product performance, understands merchandising strategy, and thrives working across different brand aesthetics. What You Will Be Responsible For Product Movement & Inventory Strategy (60% of Role) • Own inventory health across all three district stores by monitoring sell-through, stock levels, and product performance, • Lead store-to-store transfers and coordinate with Warehouse to balance inventory, fill out-of-stocks, and ensure the right product reaches the right store at the right time, • Review weekly deliveries for quality, fit, and margin protection to ensure product meets brand standards, • Track bestsellers and manage replenishment across brands to prevent stockouts and maintain product freshness, • Manage sale strategy across the district including Final Few rotation, markdowns, and sale rack maintenance to move aged inventory efficiently, • Maintain organized stockrooms and accurate inventory counts at all locations, • Manage discount and damage budgets to protect margin and minimize unsellables (target: <3% of revenue), • Use data and sales trends to forecast inventory needs and make proactive decisions Visual Merchandising Leadership (30% of Role) • Execute See-Hear-Feel visual standards across Purpose Women, Purpose Men, and Sincere to ensure each store reflects its unique brand identity, • Support floor moves, new arrival setups, and seasonal displays that drive customer engagement and sales, • Coach store teams on visual standards and replenishment to maintain consistent brand presentation, • Partner with Store Managers to ensure merchandising supports sales targets and customer experience Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting (10% of Role) • Communicate inventory needs and category gaps to buying and warehouse teams, • Provide district performance reporting on sell-through, transfers, damages, and margin trends, • Collaborate with Store Managers to understand their inventory needs and sales goals, • Participate in district audits to maintain inventory accuracy and meet shrink goals, • Train store teams on transfers, inventory accuracy, and product movement best practices Who This Role Is For Required Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising, inventory management, or multi-store operations (fashion/apparel preferred), • Strong analytical skills with ability to use sales data to make inventory and merchandising decisions, • Visual merchandising experience with an eye for brand standards and product presentation, • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple stores and priorities simultaneously, • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with store managers, warehouse, and buying teams., • Proficiency with inventory management systems (Lightspeed experience a plus) Youll Thrive in This Role If You • Have a strategic mindset but also enjoy hands-on execution, • Are proactive and can identify inventory issues before they become problems, • Love working across different brand aesthetics, • Are confident leading up and partnering with store managers, • Thrive in a growing company where you can build systems and make a real impact, • Want to grow with a company scaling from 8 to 20 stores by 2030 - with clear paths to regional and director-level roles, • Enjoy being in stores and working directly with product Compensation and Benefits Salary: $50,000 annually (Full-Time, 40 hours/week) Performance Bonus Program: After 6 months in the role, you'll be eligible for our performance-based bonus structure tied to district sales growth, margin improvement, and merchandising excellence. • Annual bonus potential: $3,000 - $5,000+ based on performance, • Total Compensation Potential: $50,000 - $55,000+ annually Additional Benefits • Competitive base pay with performance-based bonus, • Generous employee discount, • Health and dental insurance, • SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with company match, • Paid time off, • A healthy, positive, and growth-focused work culture, • Real opportunities for advancement, increased responsibility, and long-term career growth as the company expands Why This Role Matters As the District Merchandising & Product Lead, you'll play a critical role in Purpose Boutique's growth by ensuring our Tacoma district operates at peak efficiency.
