This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. The Tradeshow and Field Event Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing Paylocity’s event marketing strategy to drive brand visibility, pipeline generation, and revenue growth. This role leads the planning, execution, and performance measurement of an integrated event portfolio including tradeshows, field events, sponsorship activations, webinars, and virtual events . Working cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing functions including Product Marketing and Marketing Operations, this role ensures events function as integrated go-to-market programs that generate measurable pipeline and support Paylocity’s broader marketing and sales objectives. The ideal candidate is both strategic and operational, capable of translating business objectives into scalable event programs while managing complex logistics and delivering exceptional attendee experiences. Key Responsibilities Event Strategy & Portfolio Management • Own Paylocity’s integrated event portfolio strategy across national tradeshows, field events, sponsorship activations, webinars, and virtual events, aligning the mix and role of each program to drive brand visibility, pipeline creation, and revenue impact., • Use and analyze performance data, audience insights, and other metrics to prioritize high-value event opportunities and make annual recommendations (e.g., expand, optimize, or sunset programs) based on pipeline and ROI impact., • Define clear business objectives and success metrics for each event (e.g., pipeline generated/influenced, meetings and demos, engagement, and revenue influence), and ensure measurement plans are established early enough to guide execution and optimize outcomes., • Partner with Sales, Demand Gen, and Marketing Operations to build integrated pre-event and onsite meeting-generation plans (targeting, outreach, lists, and SLAs), ensuring the right prospects are engaged before, during, and immediately after each event., • In close partnership with Product Marketing and Demand Generation, develop and run virtual product showcases, demo webinars, and digital event experiences that support launches and solution education, driving attendance, engagement, and attributable pipeline., • Own the operational operating model and governance for Paylocity’s Field Event program, defining how sales-led prospecting and relationship-building events are planned, budgeted, executed, measured and reconciled across segments and regions with differing priorities., • Develop and maintain program standards, including guidelines, budget guardrails, approval workflows, vendor/venue best practices, and reporting requirements, to ensure policy compliance, brand consistency, and alignment to marketing objectives; provide hands-on guidance to sales teams to improve execution quality., • Monitor participation, budget utilization, and performance metrics; partner with Marketing Operations to ensure accurate Salesforce campaign tracking and reporting; and continuously improve scalability, efficiency, and measurement through standardized processes and tools., • Lead end-to-end Tradeshow, Regional Event, Field Marketing execution—from planning and booth strategy through onsite delivery, ensuring timelines, staffing plans, and logistics are aligned to business goals and attendee experience standards., • Manage and coordinate event partners (exhibit houses, production/AV, venues, shipping, and event technology) to deliver high-quality, consistent execution across programs., • Negotiate vendor agreements and manage contracting and procurement/finance processes, ensuring appropriate terms, compliance, and delivery expectations., • Develop and manage event budgets, tracking spend and reconciling costs to maximize program impact while maintaining financial discipline and reporting., • Partner with Creative and Product Marketing to build compelling booth and event experiences that reflect campaign messaging and product storytelling, driving meaningful attendee engagement and experience., • Oversee live event production and onsite operations (AV, staffing, transportation, run-of-show, and troubleshooting), proactively identifying risks and implementing contingency plans to protect the attendee experience and brand., • Create or maintain scalable event playbooks and repeatable templates (budgets, run-of-show, speaker/staff briefings, staffing guides, and post-event retros), lead cross-functional readiness to ensure demos and messaging are prepared., • Responsible for leading, developing, and advancing a team of 2–3 people, providing coaching, mentorship, and growth opportunities to build skills, elevate performance, and support long-term career progression., • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing (Product Marketing, Creative, and Marketing Operations), and other stakeholders to align event strategy, messaging, campaign integration, and execution timelines—ensuring teams are prepared, communications are coordinated, and programs deliver a cohesive go-to-market experience., • Set up and govern event campaigns in Salesforce to enable accurate performance tracking and consistent reporting across the event portfolio., • Own lead capture workflows and data quality from event platforms into CRM/Marketing systems; evaluate and administer the event technology to ensure reliable integrations, operational efficiency, and measurement-ready data., • Define measurement frameworks and KPIs for each program and analyze data and performance across in-person and virtual events to deliver clear post-event insights on engagement, conversion, pipeline impact, and provide future recommendations. Experience and Education: • 5+ years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, tradeshow management, or experiential marketing., • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Event Management, Communications or a related field preferred., • Experience managing revenue-generating, multi-channel B2B event programs including in-person, hybrid, and virtual event formats such as demo webinars, product showcases, and digital customer engagement events., • Experience working with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and product teams., • 2+ years of experience supervising and mentoring new professionals, ensuring strong performance, personal growth, and building team morale, • Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously., • Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing marketing KPIs and ROI., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, in addition to an Executive Audience., • Ability to translate business objectives into event strategies, operational plans, and measurable success metrics., • Strong vendor negotiation and budget management skills with the ability to balance financial discipline and event experience quality., • Experience managing event technology ecosystems including CRM integrations, lead capture platforms, and event analytics tools., • Salesforce (campaign, report, and dashboard management), • Wrike or other project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, etc., • Event platforms such as Cvent or similar event technology, • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), • Ability to create highly visible, executive-ready presentation decks to demonstrate event portfolio strategy, objectives, logistics, and performance, • Highly organized and detail oriented., • Strategic thinker who can connect event activities to business outcomes., • Collaborative partner able to work across diverse internal teams. The base pay range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
