Location: Elmsford, NY Hybrid: Two days per week onsite for employees located within a reasonable commuting distance of the designated office (Elmsford, NY); or Remote: This position may be performed fully remotely but ideal candidate will be based in Eastern or Central Time Zone. Travel: Minimal travel required, with up to two domestic business trips per year. The salary range for this role is from $175,000 to $200,000 annually. The compensation range may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and applicable skills. What You’ll Do As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your decisions directly influence outcomes. With modern technology and a strong local and distributed team, you’ll design and deliver digital products that support Securitas Guarding services while owning both operational performance and engineering outcomes. This position plays a key role in supporting digital product delivery and engineering operations by modernizing engineering practices, improving developer productivity, strengthening operational excellence, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality software at scale. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, forward-thinking engineering leader who balances a people-first leadership philosophy with a strong focus on delivery, customer outcomes, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams (including leaders and individual contributors), fostering ownership, accountability, and professional growth., • Champion a product mindset by aligning engineering work to customer needs and business outcomes, and ensuring teams solve meaningful user problems., • Modernize engineering practices by maturing automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, improving development environments and tooling, and responsibly adopting AI-assisted engineering (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor)., • Drive reliability, availability, and operational excellence through observability, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement of production systems., • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across employees, contractors, and external partners, establishing lightweight governance and predictable delivery practices that balance speed, quality, and risk., • Perform additional duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is solutions-focused and thrives in both independent and team settings., • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience., • No formal license required; relevant certifications in cloud (e.g., Azure), Agile, or AI/ML are a plus., • Proven experience leading and scaling Agile software engineering organizations., • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud-native architectures, web technologies, APIs, and mobile application ecosystems., • Recent hands-on experience in at least one modern frontend stack (React, Angular/AngularJS, GraphQL, TypeScript/JavaScript) or one mobile stack (Swift, Kotlin, iOS/Android native, React Native, Flutter, Objective-C)., • Practical experience adopting GenAI/agentic AI in engineering workflows or product features (LLMs, RAG, agents, AI-assisted coding tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf)., • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering talent., • Product and ownership mindset, with the ability to balance speed, quality, technical strategy, and delivery commitments. Experience that sets you apart Required experience • Technical background (must have one of the two):, • Candidate must have recent, hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:, • Modern frontend stack (at least one of):, • React, • Angular or AngularJS, • GraphQL, • TypeScript (with some JavaScript experience) OR • Modern mobile stack (at least one of):, • Swift, • Kotlin, • iOS or Android native development, • React Native, • Flutter, • Objective-C (to some extent) We will only consider candidates who meet at least one of these two technical backgrounds, as these skills are currently missing in-house and are critical to this role. Preferred experience • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application design., • Experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SQL, and Snowflake., • Experience with Kotlin and/or Swift and mobile app delivery at scale., • Experience implementing and scaling AI-assisted development practices across teams. Additional certifications • Certifications in Azure, AWS, GCP, Agile/Scrum, or AI/ML (e.g., cloud AI specialties) that demonstrate depth in cloud and AI-driven engineering. Industry knowledge • Familiarity with security services, SaaS products, or other mission-critical, 24/7 operational environments where reliability and compliance are key. Other nice to have qualifications • Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD platforms., • Experience with observability and monitoring tools, and DevEx analytics platforms., • Background in building or integrating AI-powered product features (e.g., intelligent workflows, agents, or support experiences).
