Job DescriptionSheet Metal Mechanic / InstallerJob Description We are seeking experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanics and Installers to join our team. Candidates will be responsible for the installation, assembly, and fabrication of HVAC ductwork systems on commercial construction projects throughout the New York area. This position requires strong blueprint reading skills, knowledge of HVAC systems, and experience installing spiral, square, rectangular, and prefabricated ductwork. Ideal candidates will have experience working on large-scale commercial or high-rise projects and be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities • Install HVAC ductwork systems including spiral, square, rectangular, and TDC duct., • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to lay out and install ductwork., • Assemble, install, and secure prefabricated sheet metal components., • Measure, cut, fit, and fasten ductwork and related HVAC materials., • Install hangers, supports, dampers, and other duct accessories., • Perform field fabrication and modification of sheet metal as needed., • Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and insulation of duct systems., • Work safely at heights using lifts, scaffolds, and ladders., • Collaborate with foremen, mechanics, and other trades to complete projects on schedule., • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Required Qualifications • 4-10+ years of HVAC sheet metal installation experience., • Experience installing spiral, square, rectangular, and TDC ductwork., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings., • Experience working on commercial construction and high-rise projects., • OSHA 30 Certification., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance., • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with HVAC fabrication and field modifications., • Knowledge of duct layout and coordination with other mechanical systems., • Experience operating lifts and aerial equipment., • SST Card (for NYC projects)., • Trade school training or HVAC-related certifications. Work Environment • Commercial and high-rise construction projects throughout NYC and surrounding areas., • Monday-Friday schedule with overtime opportunities available., • Indoor and outdoor work environments depending on project phase., • Work may require evenings, weekends, and extended hours to meet project deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $40.00/hr.
