Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon’s Anti-Trafficking Program (ATP) is one of the largest providers on the East Coast and one of the only providers in New York State offering comprehensive services to survivors of all types of human trafficking, including labor trafficking. Our program applies a multi-tiered approach to eradicating human trafficking. We provide intensive case management, supportive counseling and legal services to holistically meet the needs of trafficked persons. While recognizing that client services alone will not turn the tide on human trafficking, our Anti-Trafficking Program also offers community education, technical assistance, training and advocacy to foster systemic change. The Training and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and implementing training programs, in coordination with ATP staff, with the primary goal of assisting grantees of the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking (ECM), in particular the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force (BKHTTF), to improve community prevention of, and response to, the crimes of human trafficking, both sex and labor. The Training and Outreach Manager will continue to develop our existing training modules, outreach campaign and materials, in collaboration with Kings County District Attorney Office (KCDAO)’s BKHTTF Director. The Training and Outreach Manager, in conjunction with KCDAO staff, will conduct training and outreach activities in high-risk areas of NYC with the goal to increase awareness of human trafficking, and to increase trust between communities and law enforcement agents. This position will require travel within New York City, some limited travel out of state and some weekend and off hour work. The Training and Outreach Manager is also responsible for conducting a specific number of trainings/presentations and outreach efforts in compliance with the OVC-ECM grant from the Department of Justice. Job Description Summary: The Criminal Court program provides a safe reception center and various services to assist survivors and victims of crime navigate through the Criminal Court. The program provides counseling, crisis intervention, case management services, advocacy, information and referrals and practical assistance to survivors and victims of crime with an overall goal of promoting survivor safety and reducing the impact of victimization. The Coordinator is responsible for providing holistic support services to victims of all crimes. This included counseling and crisis intervention to assess the needs of victims and to help with the development of safety plans to address immediate risks and concerns. This plan may include the provision of in-person or telephone counseling; emergency assistance such as money for transportation; assistance with an Office of Victim Services (OVS) application; providing information and referrals, and follow-up services; and providing assistance with obtaining an order of protection, restitution, and other criminal justice remedies. The Coordinator will advocate on the client’s behalf with public entitlement programs, schools, employers, civil legal attorneys, and other community-based organizations, and coordinate and collaborate with the OVS Vocational Rehabilitation Unit and the New York Civil Legal Network to ensure that victims are receiving a comprehensive response. The Coordinator will also assist clients with applying for a New York City Housing Authority emergency housing transfer as an intimidated victim or victim of domestic violence; provide assistance, information and support to clients around securing safe, appropriate housing through available subsidies; or access other available resources in the City that suit the individual’s needs to help maintain housing stability in their current residence. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist clients with direct services such as registering for Victim Information Notification Everyday (VINE) and SAVIN (Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Network); making referrals for shelter stay; assisting with relocation; and referring for lock replacement. About Secret Garden One of Barrier Free Living’s longest-standing programs is the community-based domestic violence program, otherwise known as Secret Garden, which provides case management, safety planning, occupational therapy, short and long-term individual trauma-informed counseling, advocacy within the medical, mental health, child welfare, law enforcement, and criminal justice systems, and referrals to outside services. These services are provided at Secret Garden’s main office, as well as Family Justice Centers located in the five boroughs Role Summary Manages and mentors program staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations, to ensure a positive and productive work environment. A detail-oriented leader who supports a program director by overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and implementing strategic initiatives. Responsible for program coordination, budget management, and ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with organizational goals. About the Role We're seeking Master's-level professionals who feel confident facilitating Substance Use Disorder groups, collaborating closely with therapists, and thriving in a part-time, fully remote telehealth environment.
