Job Description Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Therapy Matters Location: Chandler, AZ (Clinic based and/or Home Health Hybrid work) Schedule: Full-Time ???? Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Therapy and Treatment Implementation • Deliver hands-on occupational therapy sessions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, focusing on fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills for pediatric clients in our Chandler clinic., • Implement individualized therapy plans that promote independence, engagement, and functional abilities using evidence-based and client-centered approaches., • Assist in evaluations by gathering data and contributing to assessments of fine motor, sensory, and functional abilities., • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries, in compliance with Arizona DDD guidelines and insurance requirements., • Support billing processes by ensuring accurate documentation for authorizations and claims. Family and Team Collaboration • Partner with families to provide education and strategies that support clients’ goals and enhance home-based progress., • Collaborate with BCBAs, SLPs, PTs, and other team members to deliver holistic, client-centered care., • Participate in clinical team meetings, sharing insights and supporting interdisciplinary problem-solving. Professional Standards and Productivity • Uphold professional, ethical, and facility standards, including safety regulations and clinic policies., • Maintain active credentials and engage in ongoing continuing education to stay current in the field., • Manage a realistic caseload that supports work-life balance and high-quality care. SKILLS YOU WILL USE • Implementing therapy plans and tracking progress for pediatric and neurodiverse clients (e.g., autism)., • Providing direct care with a focus on sensory integration and adaptive techniques., • Communicating effectively with families, supervising OTs, and multidisciplinary team members., • Navigating Arizona DDD guidelines and billing processes with accuracy., • Adapting seamlessly between center-based and occasional in-home therapy settings., • Supporting team training and contributing to quality assurance efforts. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program., • Valid Arizona COTA license or eligibility., • Minimum 3 years of experience as a COTA, with 5+ years preferred, including significant pediatric and neurodiverse (e.g., autism) experience., • Familiarity with Arizona DDD guidelines, insurance authorizations, and billing processes., • Availability to work in our Chandler clinic (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM; periodic Saturdays, 9 AM–1 PM) with flexibility for occasional in-home visits., • Warm, engaging personality with a commitment to client-centered, compassionate care., • Maintain a Level 1 Fingerprint Card/Background Check., • Current Article 9 and CPR certification.
