Job DescriptionDescription: Building Maintenance Technician Reporting to Building Maintenance Manager Job Type Full time, Non- Exempt; Hourly Hiring Rate $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 Pay Grade 4 Schedule 40 hours per week / weeknights and weekend availability / on-call availability Location La Nube Anticipated Start Date Immediately About the Role The role of the Building Maintenance Technician is an apprentice to journeyman level maintenance and administrative role that assists in the operations and continuity of the Facilities and Exhibits department. This role demands a reliable and dedicated person to ensure daily upkeep of the building and site. The Building Maintenance Technician will learn on the job, harnessing prior experience and shadowing a cross-functional team to service La Nube. This role will assist the Building Maintenance Manager to maintain the facility's safety, maintenance, and ensure that it meets/maintains compliance with all applicable regulations. This team member will work under the general supervision of the Building Maintenance Manager to recommend, coordinate, and execute improvements to the facility as needed to ensure a high quality, safe, and functional space. This position will assist in the proper inspection, preventative maintenance, repair, and/or outsource of services for all facilities fixtures, equipment and physical structure. This team member will assist in the inventory, procurement and tracking of all needed materials and supplies as well as log and report all issues and repairs. This job is for you if... • You have a High School Diploma or GED., • You have at least one (1) years’ experience in commercial or residential painting., • You can work in a fast-paced environment., • You can work under general supervision, performing some journey-level work involving the construction, operation and maintenance of equipment relating to the building., • You can learn and demonstrate trained activities., • You have some experience in drywall placement, patching, and repair., • You can execute tasks efficiently and accurately in a timely manner., • You can problem-solve and maintain a calm/respectful demeanor during challenging situations., • You can read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and assembly instructions., • You can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and commitment to aesthetics., • You have some experience working with outside contractors, vendors, and fabrication shop facilities., • You have 1-2 years of experience in managing documents and inventory., • You have 1-2 years of experience in purchasing equipment and administrative supplies., • You have schedule availability that can reflect a 7-day-a-week operation with periodic duties outside of regular working hours., • You have a Valid Class “C” Driver’s License or a willingness to get one within 12 months., • You have some experience with the installation or maintenance of sprinkler systems or the willingness to learn this task., • You have some knowledge of automatic door maintenance and regulations., • You have some knowledge of landscaping principles and practices., • Licensure as a Contractor is a plus but not required., • Ensure La Nube facility is in safe, clean, and optimal operating condition., • Assist and support daily inspections to assess safety, functionality, and sanitation., • Work alongside the manager to complete preventative maintenance and repair of the facility’s physical structure, underground lines and facility systems by maintaining and refining daily, weekly, and monthly check lists and processes., • Ensure assigned repairs, corrections, refinements, work orders and preventative maintenance are completed promptly., • Assist in the collaboration with engineers, team members, and contract professionals for repairs as needed (facility equipment includes but not limited to): chillers, boilers, domestic water heaters, refrigeration systems, generators, sanitizing stations, exhaust fans, air handling units, terminal units, soft water equipment, elevator equipment, kitchen equipment, washers/ dryers, pumps, gas sensors, irrigation/misting systems, etc.)., • Be on call for off-hour emergencies and situations relating to the facility and facility systems., • Collaborate with exhibits and engineering team members when improvements have significant facility impacts., • Take lead on the purchase of supplies and materials for facility upkeep, projects, and installations., • Assist in the maintenance of La Nube vehicles, as necessary., • Assist in maintaining workshop and storage area cleanliness, organization, and safety., • Assist with emergency response and evacuations., • Maintain log entries of facility repairs and issues., • Communicate with La Nube team on repair issues and address concerns in a timely, efficient, and professional manner., • Process and close work orders daily., • Work a minimum 40-hour work week., • Update and produce facilities logs and digital resources as needed., • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment., • Commitment to support La Nube’s dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives., • Attends all necessary meetings both departmentally and organizationally, as applicable., • Schedule and availability reflect the organization is a 7-day-a week operation., • Periodically required to work outside of standard working hours., • May be required to act in an on-call or standby status in a rotational pattern with other team members., • Actively practice OSHA and La Nube’s health and safety protocols., • Participate in cross-training with HVAC Electrical and Exhibits teams., • Develop electrical and mechanical skills by completing tasks onsite., • Provide backup assistance to other team members to ensure continuity of services. This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: • Observe and react to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners., • Move throughout the facility., • Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 80 pounds., • Frequent bending/stooping, kneeling, reaching, and laying down on hard surfaces., • Frequent need to carry, climb, and execute work on ladders., • Occasional need to move and utilize single or two-person lifts and forklifts., • Communicate and respond to safety hazards., • Occasional work in outdoor elements (may consist of harsh heat or cold)., • Occasional walking on uneven surfaces., • Frequent exposure to chemicals., • Occasional need to work over 6 feet high; climb ladders; use scissor lifts, etc., • Potential exposure to low voltage electricity while completing preventative maintenance., • Occasional exposure to leaning edges and glass barriers.
