Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Director, the Certified Special Education Teacher will effectively manage a caseload of students while preparing lesson plans, instructing students, evaluating and monitoring student performance, and advancing student achievement in the classroom. The Certified Special Education Teacher should have experience differentiating instruction for a variety of learners and will work collaboratively with a team to plan and support instruction in accordance with students IEPs. Teachers in this role should demonstrate a commitment to professional development through didactic workshops and classroom coaching. Candidates must hold a special education teaching certificate, and experience is preferred. Certified Special Education Teachers must be willing to receive training and coaching in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. The Certified Special Education Teacher will support a caseload of students and work on a team to implement a best-practice educational model to achieve optimal outcomes for students on the autism spectrum and students with other related neurodiversities within AZACSs specialized learning environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Directs, monitors, and mentors paraprofessionals and behavior specialists working with students who have disabilities. Duties: • Engagement and oversight of staff and student caseload in the AZACS classroom learning environment, • Provide instructional and behavior support for students in the classroom, • Provide daily feedback to paraprofessionals and behavior specialists, • Guide general education and/or uncertified teachers in IEP implementation, • Weekly lesson planning using AZACSs board-adapted curriculum, • Professional development for staff on accommodations, modifications, and implementation, • Analyze curriculum data to make instructional decisions, • Maintain ongoing student and parent communication, • Modification of materials for classrooms as needed, • Structured teaching planning, organizing, and implementing, • Staff communication/feedback, • Maintain substitute plans in case of absence, • Maintain flexibility when alternative staffing plans are implemented in case of staff absence, • Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member, • Maintains knowledge of special education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study, • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for caseload and attend all required student meetings, • Complete the required section of METs for students on your caseload, • Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner, • Including data for reporting on IEP goals, • Data for charter goals, • Data for checking for understanding and lesson planning, • Other data as requested, • Celebrates the achievements and successes of students., • Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement of your position., • Performs other duties as assigned Desired Qualifications: • Experience managing and teaching a caseload of students with disabilities in a classroom learning environment, • At least 3 years of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred Required: • Maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card, • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification, • Bachelors Degree or higher Benefits: • The school is located at a new state-of-the-art Autism Center, • Competitive pay based on experience ($58,000 to $70,000 DOE), • Eligible to participate in benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, critical care, hospitalization, scheduled accident coverage, voluntary supplemental life, and pet insurance, • Tuition reimbursement after 6 months of employment, • 80 hours of Paid Time Off and Paid Federal Holidays, • Paid fall, winter, and spring breaks, • Group Life Insurance and Employee Assistance Program, • 401K with a company match, • Complementary access to Calm Health for you and up to 5 of your loved ones, • Great professional development and advancement opportunities ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
