Job Description Butterfly's Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional coordination and delivery of software-centric programs - from ideation through to launch, including timeline, budget and resource management, based on input from all contributing teams. Programs will often span cloud services, clinical applications, data pipelines, integrations between device and software, and supporting platform capabilities. This role is ideal for a program leader who has hands-on software engineering experience (preferably in cloud or distributed systems) and a strong background in Agile/Scrum software delivery within a regulated healthcare or medical device (including SaMD) environment. They will own execution through phase gates and relevant design controls, and communicate clear, high-level updates to leadership. They will also provide input to evolve the product development process and tooling based on lessons learned. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to: • Manage multiple software-driven programs across the full lifecycle—from ideation through delivery—ensuring alignment with Design Controls, HPLC, SDLC requirements, and all applicable software quality processes., • Manage cross-functional timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables to ensure execution of programs to defined goals., • Build comprehensive program plans based on input from cross-functional teams and hold teams accountable to their commitments, milestones, resources and deliverables., • Own end-to-end software Sprint planning and execution, including backlog refinement, cross-functional alignment on priorities, Sprint capacity planning, milestone tracking, and ensuring that Sprint outputs integrate cleanly into the broader program design and implementation cycle., • Escalate cross-functional program & budget risks, resource needs, priority conflicts to appropriate product/program or functional managers., • Train more junior project managers to build this core competency across Butterfly., • Drive on-going process improvements based on lessons learned, including enhancements to Agile practices, SDLC tooling, and integration with design control / quality system requirements., • Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities. Qualifications Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: • 8+ years of experience as a Program or Project Manager in both technical and commercial environments, with required experience leading cloud-based software development programs. Experience with web and mobile is strongly preferred but not required., • Previous hands-on software coding experiences with the ability to comfortably discuss architecture, design, APIs, and technical trade-offs with engineering teams., • Proven ability to lead full-cycle Agile/Scrum execution—driving backlog quality, aligning priorities across engineering and product teams, managing sprint capacity, and ensuring delivery milestones integrate seamlessly into larger program plans., • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)., • Required experience delivering software in regulated environments—such as medical devices, SaMD, industrial, defense, or other compliance-driven sectors—with a solid understanding of Design Controls, SDLC requirements, and associated quality processes., • Proficiency in planning tools and systems (Gantt charts, Resource planning, Agile work tracking tools such as JIRA or equivalent). Compensation Our estimated salary for this role is between $170,000 - $180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.
