Job DescriptionSalary: 18.00 Position Summary The DSP FHA providesdirect care and support to adults with developmental disabilities, aiming to develop their daily living and social skills, with a focus on community integration. The role may involve working across multiple home sites based on client and scheduling needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Support clients in developing and practicing daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, cooking, shopping, social interaction)., • Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community outings, often on short notice., • Monitor client safety, follow medical and behavioral plans, and ensure a supportive home environment., • Complete documentation accurately and promptly, including incident reports and service summaries., • Maintain confidentiality of client records and sensitive information at all times., • Collaborate with care providers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to support client goals., • Implement individual service plans (ISPs) and behavioral support strategies consistently., • Participate in community integration efforts and client activities., • Attend all required in-service trainings and staff meetings., • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding client status and any issues., • Submit timecards, mileage reimbursement forms, and vehicle insurance documentation on schedule., • Follow company policies, procedures, and Title 17 regulatory guidelines., • Assist with crisis intervention and emergency response as needed., • High school diploma or GED required; additional training in Human Services preferred., • Minimum age: 21 years., • Valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, insurance, and registration required., • Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprint clearance., • Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and multiple site assignments., • Experience in working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred., • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic office technology., • Strong written communication and documentation skills., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations appropriately., • Ability to lift and assist clients, up to 50 lbs., • Frequent walking, standing, driving, and household assistance required., • Work conducted primarily in clients homes; conditions may vary., • Must cope with emotionally challenging situations and client behaviors., • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens or challenging behaviors may occur., • Problem-solving and behavioral assessment., • Sound judgment and decision-making under pressure., • Organization and ability to meet deadlines., • Clear, respectful communication with clients and coworkers., • Proficiency with phones, email, and documentation tools., • Goal setting and task prioritization.
