Your Role: Cultivating Beauty Through Design Excellence As our Part-Time Garden Designer, you will be the creative force behind our preserved garden installations, translating client visions into breathtaking biophilic art. From initial concept sketches to final 3D renderings, you'll guide projects through their entire creative journey while collaborating with our production and installation teams. You'll have the unique opportunity to work hands-on, getting involved in fabrication and potentially installation, truly seeing your designs come to life. What You Will Accomplish: • Creative Design Journey: Develop innovative preserved garden concepts through sketching, designing, and rendering, bringing natural landscapes to life in interior spaces, • Technical Excellence: Produce accurate botanical elements' drawings and stunning 3D renderings that serve as blueprints for our artisan craftspeople, • Client Collaboration: Interpret client demands and develop specifications that exceed expectations while maintaining our sustainability standards, • Adobe Mastery: Leverage your professional-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, to create compelling visual presentations, • Multi-Project Management: Successfully juggling multiple projects from concept to final execution with strong time management and attention to detail, • Visual Storytelling: Edit images for brochures and digital content that showcase the transformative power of our preserved gardens, • Hands-On Innovation: Embrace opportunities to participate in fabrication and installation, gaining invaluable understanding of how your designs translate into reality, • Design Foundation: Minimum of 2 years background (including academic history) in design with a portfolio that demonstrates creative excellence and attention to detail, • Artistic Vision: Someone who defines themselves as creative with a keen eye for detail and an artistic sensibility that resonates with natural beauty, • Technical Proficiency: Professional-level mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, • Natural Inspiration: A genuine love of plants and deep appreciation for nature's design principles - this is essential to our mission, • Communication Excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members, • Adaptability Champion: High adaptability to change and flexibility in our dynamic, fast-paced environment, • Independent Excellence: Self-starter who works independently while thriving in our collaborative team ecosystem, • Hands-On Enthusiasm: Genuine enjoyment of working in a hands-on environment where creativity meets craftsmanship, • Educational Background: Associates Degree in Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts preferred, though exceptional portfolios and experience are equally valued, • 15-20 hours per week In person at office in Fairfield NJ.
