Job DescriptionWarehouse Worker/Driver The Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB), a private, non-profit organization that provides hunger-relief in the Brazos Valley (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Washington Counties), is in search of a Full-Time Warehouse Worker/Driver (40 hours/week). The position is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, with rotating Saturday shifts (from 7am to 12pm) and will report to the Distribution Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Driver Responsibilities/Tasks • Paperwork, • Perform pre-trip truck inspections, completing Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) paperwork. Alert supervisor to issues of safety and/or concern, • Create invoices (if necessary) for product to be delivered, • Ensure those who received deliveries sign all necessary receipt/invoice paperwork, • Fill out delivery log paperwork to track duration of deliveries as well as truck mileage and product being delivered. This paperwork is used to create more efficient routes and to aide in yearly performance reviews., • Turn in all paperwork, filled out completely, to designated area when necessary., • Deliveries, • Assist by loading trucks before deliveries, • Follow all designated delivery routes, • Deliver product in company vehicles to various locations throughout the Brazos Valley including but not limited to:, • Partner agency food orders, • Program deliveries, such as Senior Bags, Backpack Bags, Mobile Pantries and Screen & Intervene Food Boxes, • Fill in on additional delivery routes in cases of schedule changes, vacation/sick absences and/or staff limitations., • Retail Pick-Up, • Visit partner Retail establishments on assigned days to pick up designated food products to bring back to the warehouse for further distribution, • Develop and maintain relationships with Retail store staff, including back-room staff and departmental store leadership., • Complete Retail Log paperwork daily., • Unload trucks upon return from Retail Pick-Up, • Record temperatures of product and transportation, • Weigh and log Retail Product, • Store food appropriately with correct tags., • Other, • May be asked to pick up product from vendor locations, • Product Receiving, • Unload product from donors/vendors and complete any invoices that are necessary, • Unload Food Reclamation loads, • Storing reclamation pallets on dry storage trailer, • Tag and store pallets after they have been received into our system, • Receive donations from the public and logging appropriately, • Receive bread donations from retail sites (picked up by volunteers) every day, • Food Order Pulling, • Assist in pulling orders by following picklist requests, including stacking pallets appropriately, • Complete pick lists logs, • Turn in completed pick list paperwork to appropriate locations, • Properly wrap orders so that they store safely in the order staging area, • Store completed pallets of food/orders in bulk locations, • Facility Maintenance, • Assist in routine warehouse maintenance such as:, • Pest trap, fire extinguisher and/or A/C inspections, • Emptying trash cans and replacing liners, • Fork lift, electric and manual pallet jack inspections, • Temperature checks of refrigerated and frozen product when we receive into the warehouse and make deliveries., • Sweep, mop and scrub floor, especially in case of spills, • Install warehouse equipment when necessary (i.e. pest traps, pallet racking, dock accessories, lighting, etc.), • Collect and stack empty pallets, • Remove wrap from pick location pallets, • Sweep/wash fleet, • Timely and accurate completion of paperwork that may accompany maintenance tasks., • Other, • Help load orders into vehicles for agencies that pick up their orders in lieu of delivery, • Conduct physical counts of inventory during monthly/quarterly/yearly cycle counts, • Assist in shuttling fleet to maintenance shop for inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance, • Pick up and bring back to warehouse recycling material from partner agencies., • Notify Warehouse Coordinator immediately of any issues that may affect the safe operation of daily duties at the Brazos Valley Food Bank, • Follow all Agency Policies & Procedures, • Attend and participate in staff meetings and monthly warehouse safety trainings., • High School Diploma, • Class A, B, or C Driver’s License (either Individual or Commercial), • Ability to operate Manual and Electric Pallet Jacks, • Ability to operate Forklift and/or willingness to perform required training exercises and certification tests (Certification required after employment), • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, • Clean driving record (no DUI/DWI and minimal minor infractions), • May be required to perform drug screening as condition of hire, • Ability to perform basic computer functions within common computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet usage), • If not certified, willingness to obtain Food Handler’s, Civil Rights and other required Certifications to perform the job Conditions may include working inside, working outside, working alone, working protracted or irregular hours. May be asked to travel in state or out of state for training or professional development opportunities.
