FULL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for safe and efficient operation of production and all related support equipment. Apply all applicable knowledge and skills to accomplish assigned tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for: • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and apply experience and technical knowledge of welding, electrical, hydraulic, PLCs and pneumatics as needed, • Responsible for performing daily checks on boilers, air compressors, and production equipment, • Perform, direct, assist other mechanics with daily checks, startup requirements and production needs. Perform preventative maintenance procedures and ensure timely startups each day, • Must follow all company safety guidelines, including HACCP, GMP's, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens and other food and personal safety requirements, • Will take an active role in the development and maintenance of a safe work environment, including food safety, fire safety, lockout/tagout compliance, and emergency shutoff procedures, • Must work as a team leader and communicate with Quality Control, Processing, and other support areas daily. Complete work orders as required and document as necessary, • Notify supervisor of needed parts, supplies or materials needed to perform necessary maintenance functions, • Assist with or handle special projects as needed, • Must understand robotics, automatic wrapping machines, code printers, and batter applicators, • Understand and make necessary repairs or changes on drives and power transmissions, • Will handle installation, maintenance and repairs of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic or pneumatic valves, regulators, cylinders, conveyor belts, labelers, boxing equipment, palletizers and sealers., • Will handle all troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, forced air, pneumatic and refrigeration systems., • Will identify and repair wear and stress points (bushing, bearings, sprockets, chains) and packaging machinery (wrappers, loaders, labelers, etc.). Will handle welding for fabrication and/or repairs., • Will handle construction, repair and replacement of electrical systems (hang lighting, run conduit, install PLCs) and use schematics, diagrams, ladder logic and/or flow charts to determine correct operating procedures. The selected candidate will also possess: • Proficient knowledge of electrical, hydraulic controls, pneumatics, PLC's, motor controls, and general building maintenance, including plumbing and weld proficiently as food manufacturing requires, • Sufficient knowledge of the basic theories of steam power, air compressors, refrigeration (i.e. safe operating levels, pressures), • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and PLC circuitry (i.e. single, dual and three-phase motor circuits, fuses, relays, heat elements, sensor loops) with correct testing equipment, • Read schematics, blueprints, diagrams, ladder logic and flow charts, and perform data acquisitions. Must be able to install or replace PLCs, their supporting circuits and A/C inverters (mount boxes and sensors, run conduit, install relays, etc.), • Safely weld (Mig, Tig), use hand tools, hand-held power tools, test equipment and common shop equipment such as bandsaws, bench grinders, punch presses, multimeters, pressure gauges, flare tools, bleeder and vacuum pumps, knock-out benders, amprobes, sig. strength meters, and meggars, • Guide and direct other mechanics and line operators as needed, • Knowledgeable of food safety requirements (HACCP, GMP), Lockout/Tagout, Personal Protective Equipment, cool time, electrical safety, fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures Salary Range: $30-$35/hour For immediate and confidential consideration, please email your resume to or call 424.488.7104.
