The GSE Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to ensure safe, reliable, and operationally ready equipment and facilities. This role supports daily FBO operations by maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, and works closely with the Line Service teams to support safe, efficient aircraft ground handling operations. GSE Maintenance & Repair • Inspect, diagnose, and repair ground support equipment, including diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, • Perform corrective maintenance on downed or malfunctioning equipment, • Operate and service a wide range of GSE, including tugs, tow bars, GPUs, air start units, belt loaders, floor machines, LAV carts, and forklifts, • Establish, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule (PMS) for ground support equipment and fuel farm assets, • Perform routine inspections and document maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures, • Comply with all Company policies and procedures related to GSE standards, safety, and security, • Promote a strong safety culture through daily observations, routine audits, safety meetings, and training, • Support the use of the Baldwin Safety Management System (SMS), • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Line Service, Operations, and other internal teams, • Communicate equipment status, maintenance needs, and safety concerns clearly and timely, • Ability to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping, • Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks, • May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require, • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing maintenance on FBO or similar ground support equipment, • Must have a valid driver's license., • Ability to operate a variety of aircraft ground support equipment, • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require, • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational results, • High school diploma or equivalent, • Customer service experience, • FBO or aviation industry experience, • Forklift experience preferred While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; and chemicals, including aviation fuels, oils, and lavatory fluid.
