POSITION : Regulatory Specialist AREA : R&D and Innovation BASED AT : Paterna, Valencia REPORTING DIRECT : Global Regulatory Coordinator REPORTING MATRIX : Global Head R&D MISSION OF THE ROLE: The Regulatory and Technical Specialist will be a key driver of Decco’s regional regulatory strategy and a critical link to global regulatory projects as well as ensures validation of R&D initiatives through field and lab trials, directly supporting business growth. Responsibilities include providing regulatory technical support in region and global coordinating cross-functional teams on regional/global R&D projects and partnering with customers to create new business opportunities. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in regulatory workflows, dossier preparation, and authority coordination, combined with hands-on experience in product performance trials. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential to introduce and validate post-harvest technologies aligned with business needs while collaborating with key industry stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Regulatory and technical responsibilities • Develop and execute regional regulatory strategies aligned with regional global strategic plans., • Support to dossier preparation, regulatory submissions, and coordinate with authorities to ensure compliance., • Regulatory documents management from cross functional stakeholders to support Global regulatory coordinator, • Manage regulatory study documents/ reports from cross-functional teams to R&D and regulatory global coordinator., • Coordination with internal regulatory collegues (UPL, Advanta) to expedite the project progress., • Administrate regulatory studies and ensure timely completion and reporting., • Engage and coordinate with consultants to drive the regulatory projects on time., • Support R&D evaluation plan for the priority projects., • Maintain relationships with national Universities and government bodies to liaison and cross leverage knowledge & resources. 2. Business support responsibilities • Identify new post-harvest commercial opportunities to build business revenue., • Engage in commercial and promotional activities through technical presentations, product recommendations, and training. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS: • MS degree (or higher) in agriculture and related field., • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience related to job description mentioned., • Knowledge of regulatory authorities and registration need in diverse geographies especially in Asia., • Good experience in regulatory workflow and conducting R&D trials (field, packhouse, lab) on diverse crops and geographies., • Ability to work in a team environment – Collaboration and Cooperation, • Computer skills: Excel and other MS Office programs, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS: • MBA or management diploma in agribusiness and related, • Understanding of post-harvest management (fruit, vegetables, cereals)., • Willing to travel., • Knowledge of agrochemicals, biologicals and its general use, • Project management experience KEY COMPETENCIES: • Cultivates innovation - Thinks creatively and implements solutions for everyday problems; Strives to continually improve own processes and areas of business; Puts forward proposals and develops strategic implementation plans to introduce new and improved ways of operating., • Results orientation - Strong capability in focusing on tasks and results to achieving goals, solving problems, maintaining productivity, and making fast decisions by using a critical thinking approach., • Organization/project management - Plan and schedule work according to changing priorities; designs and maintains effective systems and processes for managing work., • Interpersonal impact - Ability to bring together divergent views, develop consensus, and maintain credibility skill at building networks and an ability to engage with people from other parts of the world., • Resourcefulness – Identifying, Securing & Deploying resources effectively & efficiently (People, funds, infrastructure) to accomplish a goal., • Coordination – Connecting with diverse cross functional team both regionally and globally.
