The consultant will be responsible for the successful delivery of payroll and time management services, ensuring compliance with country-specific legal requirements, customer agreements, and SAP best practices. This role requires deep expertise in SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead complex issue resolution and customer-facing activities. The consultant will collaborate closely with customers, service managers, project teams, and other HR service delivery consultants to provide high-quality support, continuous improvements, and SAP HCM solutions.Responsibilities- Design and deliver high-quality SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management solutions that meet business and legal requirements for Austria and Switzerland.- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or multiple customer accounts, providing functional guidance and technical expertise.- Serve as the primary point of contact (SPOC) for assigned accounts regarding payroll and time management topics.- Analyze and resolve complex payroll and time management issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.- Perform advanced SAP HCM configuration activities, including: Payroll Schemas; Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs); Wage Type Configuration; Time Evaluation; Absence and Attendance Management; Basic Pay Configuration; Payroll Posting; Legal Reporting.- Support the delivery of payroll processing activities and ensure adherence to Austrian and Swiss statutory requirements.- Lead defect analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution for payroll, time, taxation, social insurance, allowances, absences, overtime, and retroactive accounting issues.- Participate in workshops with customers to gather requirements and translate business needs into SAP solutions.- Support implementation, upgrade, migration, and transformation projects related to SAP HCM Payroll and Time Management.- Review and validate configuration changes, transports, testing activities, and documentation.- Mentor junior and mid-level consultants, providing guidance on payroll processes and SAP best practices.- Ensure accurate and timely ticket management, including analysis, resolution, communication, and documentation.- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and service delivery excellence.Key Skills- Extensive SAP HCM experience with a strong focus on Payroll and Time Management.- Proven expertise in Austrian Payroll and/or Swiss Payroll.- Strong experience with Payroll Schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), Wage Types, Time Evaluation, Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (PT).- Deep understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, social insurance, and reporting requirements in Austria and/or Switzerland.- Experience performing payroll issue analysis and root cause investigation.- Ability to independently manage customer relationships and complex support activities.- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.- Experience working in international and virtual teams.- Preferred SAP HCM ABAP debugging knowledge.- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors integrations.- Knowledge of SAP HCM PY‑AT (Austria) and/or PY‑CH (Switzerland).- Experience with Employee Central Payroll (ECP).- Knowledge of SAP HR renewal and Fiori applications.- Project implementation and transition experience.Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).- 5+ years of hands‑on SAP HCM Payroll experience.- Proven experience supporting Austrian and/or Swiss payroll environments.- Fluent English (written and spoken).- German language skills are highly desirable.- Applicants must have a valid EU work permit.Personal Attributes- Customer‑focused with a strong service delivery mindset.- Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex issues.- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.- Able to prioritize workload effectively in a dynamic environment.- Proactive, collaborative, and solution‑oriented.Preferred Candidate Profile- 5–10+ years of SAP HCM Payroll experience.- Strong expertise in both Payroll and Time Management.- Ability to lead client discussions and act as trusted advisor.- Comfortable mentoring junior consultants and supporting account growth.- Experience managing multiple customers within an AMS or HR Services environment.- German speaking (B2/C1 or above) highly preferred due to customer interaction requirements in Austria and Switzerland.BenefitsAt Strada, we support your whole self—offering a range of benefits for your health, wellbeing, finances, and future.
