Itinerant Service Engineer – Instrumentation & Process Systems 📍 Location: Near Lyon (within a 45-minute commute) 🕒 Contract: Full-time, Permanent 💶 Salary: €40,000 – €50,000 (depending on experience) About the Company My client are a well-established European supplier of advanced scientific and process equipment, supporting clients across the pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, food, academic, and process industries. Our product portfolio includes systems for freeze drying, evaporation, high-pressure homogenisation, bioprocessing, cryogenic storage, and analytical instrumentation. Every system we supply is supported with full lifecycle services – from installation and commissioning to qualification, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Role We are seeking a practical, customer-oriented Service Engineer/Technician to join our French team. Based near Lyon, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting cutting-edge laboratory and industrial instrumentation across the region and beyond. When not on customer sites, you will be working from our local technical facility. This position is well-suited to a technically skilled junior engineer or technician who enjoys fieldwork, solving problems, and delivering great service. Key Responsibilities • Install, commission, and support instrumentation and process systems, • Carry out system inspections, configuration, and validation, • Deliver user training post-installation, • Provide troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (remote and on-site), • Ensure compliance with documentation and regulatory standards, • Collaborate with internal teams and clients for smooth project delivery, • Maintain clear service documentation and technical reports, • Occasionally support sample testing or lab evaluations, • Travel nationally and occasionally internationally (up to 50%) Your Profile Qualifications • DUT or Licence Professionnelle (Bac +2/3) in a technical field such as:, • Mesures Physiques, • Electrical or Electronic Engineering, • Industrial Computing, • Similar discipline, • Recent graduates with strong practical skills are welcome to apply Skills & Attributes • Technical problem-solving and fault-finding ability, • Basic understanding of instrumentation systems (mechanical, electronic, or analytical), • Clear communication style, both verbal and written, • Ability to explain technical topics to non-specialists, • Self-motivated and reliable with a team mindset, • Flexible, eager to learn, and comfortable with evolving technologies, • Professional appearance and approach, • Valid EU/UK driver’s license, • Good IT/computer literacy, • English language skills (written and spoken) are a plus What’s on Offer • A diverse and hands-on technical role in a forward-thinking environment, • Salary between €40,000 and €50,000 depending on experience, • Bonus scheme, company vehicle, pension, and holiday benefits, • Opportunities for technical training and professional growth, • Autonomy and flexibility within a supportive team, • Stability in a growing and customer-focused organisation
