Role: Trainee Accountant \n Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex \n Hours: Full-time \n Pay: £24,700 per annum \n \n An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Accountant to join one of our longstanding clients, an established and growing accountancy practice based in Eastbourne. \n \n This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or A Level leaver looking to begin a professional career in accountancy. You will support experienced Managers and Partners across a variety of client accounts while studying towards an AAT, ACCA or ICAEW qualification. \n \n Benefits: \n\n • £24,700 per annum\n, • Professional study support towards AAT, ACCA or ICAEW qualification\n, • Excellent opportunity for a graduate or A Level leaver\n, • Hands-on experience across accounts, tax, payroll and bookkeeping\n, • Work alongside experienced Managers and Partners\n, • Exposure to a varied portfolio of clients\n, • Structured professional development and long-term career progression\n\n \n The Requirements: \n\n • Minimum 2:1 degree or higher for graduate applicants\n, • Alternatively, A Levels at A, A or B, or equivalent Distinction, Distinction or Merit grades in relevant subjects\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n, • Strong organisation and ability to work accurately under pressure\n, • Excellent attention to detail and compliance-focused approach\n, • Strong logical problem-solving skills\n, • Good team-working skills\n, • Strong IT skills, including a high level of competency in Excel\n, • Confidence using online accounting software\n, • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues\n, • Flexible, positive and responsive approach to client needs\n, • High level of integrity and professional ethics\n, • Enthusiasm for developing a long-term career in accountancy\n\n \n The Role: \n\n • Support Managers and Partners across a variety of client account work\n, • Provide a high standard of client care\n, • Draft and send client correspondence including emails and covering letters\n, • Support bookkeeping activities and accurately record financial transactions\n, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records\n, • Assist with personal, partnership and corporation tax returns\n, • Complete control account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies\n, • Prepare and administer client payroll and statutory reports for review\n, • Reconcile wage transactions against payroll records\n, • Assist with month-end and year-end processes\n, • Help produce monthly reports\n, • Support the specialist tax team with Personal Tax and Corporation Tax work\n, • Carry out research and provide support around policies and procedures\n, • Complete bank reconciliations\n, • Maintain data security when handling sensitive client information\n, • Keep up to date with current legislation and relevant professional requirements\n, • Provide general administrative support to Managers and Partners\n\n \n If you're keen to join an exceptional team who can offer professional qualifications, broad hands-on accountancy experience and excellent long-term career development, then please apply to this Trainee Accountant role below or call Jamie Watson on between 9:00am - 5:30pm.
