Job Description: Primary School Supply Teacher Location: Plymouth Job Type: Temporary / Daily Supply Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, flexible, and committed Primary Supply Teachers to work across a range of schools throughout Plymouth. This role offers an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers who value flexibility, enjoy working in varied educational environments, and are passionate about positively impacting pupils’ learning experiences. As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a supportive and well-managed classroom environment, and ensure pupils remain engaged and focused throughout the school day. You will be confident in quickly adapting to new school settings, building positive relationships with staff and pupils, and supporting learners with a range of academic, behavioural, and additional needs. Key Responsibilities • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in line with school planning and curriculum requirements, • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment, • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and encourage positive pupil participation, • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs and abilities of learners, • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs where required, • Establish strong professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and school leadership teams, • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management, • Provide clear handover notes and feedback to class teachers when appropriate, • Demonstrate professionalism and flexibility when working across different schools and year groups Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), or equivalent recognised teaching qualification, • Previous experience working within a Primary School setting, • Strong classroom management and communication skills, • Flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work, • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and teaching assignments, • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Desirable Experience • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or additional behavioural needs, • Training in behaviour management, de-escalation strategies, or trauma-informed practice, • Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices What We Offer • Flexible supply work tailored to your availability and lifestyle, • Experience across a range of mainstream and specialist educational settings, • Competitive daily rates of pay, • Ongoing support from a dedicated education recruitment consultant, • Access to short-term, long-term, and permanent opportunities If you are an adaptable and motivated teacher seeking flexible work across Plymouth, we would be delighted to hear from you.
