We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join our management team, supporting the delivery of high-quality services across six supported living services in Shrewsbury.This is a full-time, fully off-rota role, ideal for an experienced and motivated individual who is passionate about person-centred support, staff development, and achieving excellent outcomes for the people we support.About the RoleAs an Assistant Service Manager, you will work closely with the Service Manager to provide leadership and support across six supported living services. You will play a key role in ensuring the people we support receive high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, and achievement of their goals and aspirations.This role requires a proactive and visible leader who can work independently across multiple services, building positive relationships with people we support, families, staff teams, and professionals. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, supporting service improvements, monitoring quality and compliance, and ensuring staff have the guidance and support they need to deliver excellent person-centred support.You will support and mentor staff teams, monitor compliance and quality standards, carry out audits and service improvement initiatives, and help develop a positive and inclusive culture across the services.The role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. However, flexibility is required as there may be occasions when you will need to work outside of these hours to monitor service delivery, carry out observations, support staff, or respond to service needs.The successful candidate will also participate in the Bethphage on-call rota.Key responsibilities as an Assitant Service Manager, you will;Support the Service Manager with the operational management of six supported living services.Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff teams. Lead by example in a positive, inclusive culturePromote person-centred approaches and positive outcomes for the people we support.Monitor quality, compliance, and service performance.Complete audits, observations, supervisions, and staff development activities.Support investigations, incident reviews, complaints, safeguarding processes, and the implementation of learning outcomes.Analyse service data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.Ensure accurate record keeping and effective use of Eclipse and Care Planner.Promote Positive Behaviour Support and least restrictive practice.Develop positive relationships with families, professionals, and other stakeholders.Work in line with Bethphage's values, policies, and procedures.Oversee medication management in line with policy and proceduresPromote independence, choice and community participation for the PWSCoordinate Staff rotas, shift planning and service coverageMust have a good understanding of PBS, safeguarding and complianceWhat we are looking for, the ideal candidate will have:Experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.Previous supervisory or management experience within Health and Social Care.A good understanding of Person-Centred Thinking and Planning.Knowledge and understanding of Positive Behaviour Support.Experience completing audits and monitoring service quality.Good IT, literacy, and communication skills.The ability to work independently using their own initiative, as well as work effectively as part of a team.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across six services.Experience supporting staff development through motivation, coaching, mentoring, supervisions, and performance management.An understanding of CQC regulations and how to evidence good practice through quality monitoring processes.Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or working towards this qualification.Passionate about delivering high quality careExcellent communication & organisational skillsWhat we offerExcellent opportunities for career developmentA Simply Health Cash Plan- to help you with healthcare costs including dental, physiotherapy, chiropody, optical, new child payment, prescriptions and moreLong service rewards starting at £100 increasing to £150 depending on length of serviceGenerous annual leave entitlement: 28 days holiday in your first year, 33 day after five years, 38 days after ten-years' serviceHigh quality training & ongoing support through supervisions, team meetings, PDRsBirthday recognition – an Amazon e-voucher every yearRefer-a-Friend Award – earn £200 for every successful referral who completes their probationEnhanced DBS check paid by usIf you are passionate about developing teams, driving quality, and making a positive difference to the lives of the people we support, we would love to hear from you.Closing date: 9th October 2026Interview date: Tuesday 13th October 2026Some of our roles require males, females, race and age specific employees only.
