    Support Officer – Supported Housing (Non-CQC) Location: Ruislip, West London Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Hours Start Date: Immediate About the Role We are looking for experienced, compassionate and motivated Support Officers to join our growing team, supporting residents within a large supported housing service in Ruislip. This is a non-CQC regulated service, supporting vulnerable adults to live independently while providing the guidance, supervision and practical support they need to achieve positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities As a Support Officer, you will: • Provide day-to-day support and supervision to residents., • Carry out regular welfare checks and wellbeing visits., • Complete, review and update risk assessments., • Develop, implement and monitor individual support plans., • Maintain accurate case notes and support records., • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns., • Support residents to access healthcare, benefits, education, employment and community services., • Liaise with local authorities, healthcare professionals and partner agencies., • Promote independence while maintaining professional boundaries., • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company policies. Essential Requirements • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)., • Previous experience within supported housing, homelessness services, housing support or social care., • Experience completing risk assessments, welfare checks and safeguarding referrals., • Excellent communication and report-writing skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Right to work in the UK. Desirable • Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (preferred but not essential)., • Experience supporting people with:, • Mental health needs, • Substance misuse, • Offending backgrounds, • Complex needs, • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and supported housing services. You will work as part of a supportive team to provide safe, person-centred care to adults who may have mental health needs, mild learning disabilities or require rehabilitation and daily living support. Main responsibilities • Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care, • Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of equipment, • Supporting residents with meals, drinks and nutrition, • Administering or supporting with medication where trained and authorised, • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and support plans, • Encouraging residents to maintain their independence and participate in activities, • Providing emotional support and companionship, • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes, • Completing accurate daily records and care documentation, • Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment, • Following safeguarding, infection-control, health-and-safety, confidentiality and professional-boundary procedures, • Working closely with colleagues, managers, families and healthcare professionals, • Supporting day, night, weekend and bank-holiday shifts according to the rota and needs of the service The ideal candidate will • Be kind, patient, respectful and dependable, • Have good communication and teamwork skills, • Be able to follow instructions, policies and care plans, • Be willing to work flexibly, including weekends, nights and bank holidays when required, • Understand the importance of dignity, privacy, equality and safeguarding, • Remain calm and professional in challenging situations, • Have the right to work in the UK, • Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and all required training A Care Certificate, NVQ/QCF Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care, medication training, PMVA training or previous experience supporting adults with mental health needs or learning disabilities would be an advantage.
