Your Quests Include: • Edit and optimise deal content generated by AI, ensuring they are accurate, engaging, and follow SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) best practices before going live on the Wowcher and LivingSocial sites., • Schedule deals to go live with the best possible write-up and imagery for our subscriber base across all Wowcher and LivingSocial locations – some paid weekend work may be required., • Deal Optimisation – Regularly review our top 100 deals, optimising content, images, and the overall deal offering (including discounts, availability, and features) to ensure maximum appeal and performance., • Performance Tracking & Reporting – Use Excel and data analytics tools to track optimisation efforts, providing insights into conversion rates and revenue growth., • AI Content & Image Support – Assist the team in developing effective OpenAI prompts for both image generation and content creation., • Cross-Team Collaboration – Liaise regularly with the Sales team to ensure all deals are factually accurate and supported by high-quality, engaging copy., • Support collaboration with other teams by carrying out feedback requests; light image sourcing/editing may occasionally be required (where not handled by our Design team). We are looking for a Deputy Showbiz Editor to join us at The Mirror. This is a fantastic opportunity to write and edit agenda setting stories on all things celebrity, TV and entertainment from breaking news to red carpets. You will join our dynamic hybrid operation, working on showbiz content across digital, print and video, bringing extensive showbiz experience and contacts with you. This is a fixed term contract maternity cover role, initially for 9 months, starting ASAP. This role is home and hub based linked to our London Hub (3 days per week in hub). Who are we looking for? You are a highly experienced NCTJ/NQJ senior qualified journalist with up to date, in depth UK media law knowledge. You have a proven track record of writing and editing showbiz news content at a similar national, magazine or large regional title. You have a fantastic eye for detail and substantial experience in reporting on and editing all things UK & US celebrity with a bursting contacts book of relevant celebs, PRs and sources. You can create and edit content swiftly while consistently meeting deadlines with ease. You can adapt to tight timelines and have practical experience utilising SEO & socials to optimise content reach. You ideally have experience running a news desk and have the skills to motivate your team to source exciting showbiz stories and scoop exclusives for our audiences.
