Our client provides engineered water solutions—including pumps, booster sets, flow meter chambers, and pressurisation units—to customers across the UK and internationally. This role is accountable for maintaining the performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance of both existing and future products. It achieves this through structured problem-solving, thorough root cause analysis, and the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions, supporting operational continuity and driving continuous improvement. Product Engineer Permanent Dependent on experience Monday – Friday Gloucester Product Engineer Job Description: • Investigate product failures, non-conformances, and performance issues using structured problem-solving methodologies, 8D, RCA, and Fishbone analysis., • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to improve product reliability, safety, and quality., • Support production, quality, service, and the customer support teams with technical issue resolution and troubleshooting., • Review and maintain existing designs, including 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs within SolidWorks PDM and ERM/MRP, ensuring accuracy and configuration control., • Assess and implement engineering changes (NCR/ECR/ECO), ensuring minimal disruption to production and installed base., • Analyse field data, warranty returns, and test results to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives., • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product Management to resolve cross-functional issues., • Support compliance activities, including risk assessments, safety reviews, and adherence to applicable standards., • Conduct or support testing and validation activities where required to verify corrective actions., • Provide clear technical reports and documentation to communicate findings, actions, and outcomes. Product Engineer Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications: • Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD and PDM systems for maintaining and updating existing designs. Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and methods., • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, • Experience with structured problem-solving tools, 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, or similar methodologies., • Working knowledge of DFMA, GD&T, and manufacturing processes., • Ability to interpret test data, field data, and technical reports to inform decision-making.
