Senior Electrical Engineer - Zero Emissions - Maritime - Belfast - £DOE Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland On site Salary: Competitive + benefits package Company Overview An innovative engineering led technology business developing next generation zero emissions high speed transport platforms within the marine sector. With continued programme growth and commercial deployment underway, the organisation is expanding its Electrical Engineering capability to support the development and integration of complex vessel electrical architectures across its product portfolio. The Role This is a senior hands on Electrical Engineering position focused on the development and integration of advanced electrical architectures across high performance electric vessels. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will take ownership of electrical system design and integration across propulsion, energy storage, control systems and vessel sub systems, ensuring robust and scalable solutions from concept through to build and operation. The role suits an engineer comfortable operating across both design and practical integration within fast moving prototype and production environments. Key Responsibilities • Lead development of vessel electrical architectures and power distribution systems, • Design and integration of HV and LV electrical systems across propulsion and auxiliary sub systems, • Creation of schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, system overviews and BOM documentation, • Selection and integration of electrical components, switchgear and control hardware, • Support electrical design reviews and provide technical guidance across engineering teams, • Collaborate closely with controls, propulsion, mechanical and naval architecture teams, • Development of grounding, bonding and protection strategies, • Support manufacturing, commissioning and end of line testing activities, • Provide electrical support during vessel build and operational phases, • Engage with suppliers and support component selection and validation, • Mentor junior engineers and support development of internal electrical standards About You • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering or similar discipline, • Experience developing electrical architectures within electric, hybrid or high performance engineering environments, • Strong experience across HV DC, LV DC and AC electrical systems, • Experience producing electrical schematics and manufacturing documentation, • Knowledge of wiring harness design and electrical integration practices, • Understanding of CAN based systems and electrical communication networks, • Hands on fault finding and system integration capability, • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, • Proactive and delivery focused mindset suited to fast paced technology programmes Desirable Experience • Experience within marine, aerospace, automotive, motorsport or advanced mobility sectors, • Knowledge of Electrical CAD tools such as Zuken E3, EPlan or similar, • Experience supporting prototype builds or low volume production programmes, • Understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance requirements What’s on Offer • Opportunity to work on world leading zero emissions transport technology, • Highly collaborative engineering environment focused on innovation, • Exposure to clean sheet product development programmes, • Long term career progression within a rapidly growing technology business, • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package If this role is of interest, please apply via LinkedIn or email
