We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player tojoin our practice ofA clinical team of 3 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 Practice Nurse,1 Nurse Associate, 2 Health Care Assistants, 1 Patient Care Assistant.Our ideal candidate would work 4 sessions per week. Weencourage personal development. Provisionally we are looking for a startin early Spring 2026 but we are prepared to wait for the right candidate.We offer an attractive salary based on experience.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, on-call Duty GP role on a rota, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.About usGreen Meadows Surgery is a well-established training practice locatedin purpose-built premises on the Heatherwood Hospital site. This is partof a wider 'Ascot Plan' to deliver innovative and collaborative working acrossthe four local practices.We are a friendly team with a comprehensive and supportiveadministration structure so that our health care team can get on with the jobof caring for our patients rather than being distracted with endless paperwork.Job responsibilitiesIn accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other responsibilities within the organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyAttending practice meetings, training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.Confidentiality:In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters.
