Island No.7 Team – Chef, Bartender & Kitchen Porter Location: Tooting Market, SW17 Dates: Friday 25 & Saturday 26 September Trial weekend with opportunity for ongoing work Island No.7 is a new Caribbean food, cocktails & culture concept in Tooting Market, inspired by Jamaican and Guyanese flavours. We’re building our team and currently hiring for 3 roles: 👨🏾‍🍳 Caribbean Chef / Cook Professional kitchen experience required. Confident preparing Caribbean food including jerk chicken, curry goat, rice & peas, plantain and sides. Must understand food hygiene, prep, batch cooking and busy service. 🍹 Bartender Previous bar/cocktail experience required. Preparing signature cocktails, spirits, wine and soft drinks, taking orders and keeping the bar organised. Must be confident, quick and great with customers. 🍽️ Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant Supporting the kitchen with washing up, cleaning, restocking, waste and basic food prep. Experience preferred, but reliability, speed and a good work ethic are most important. For all roles: You must be available Friday 25 & Saturday 26 September. There is potential for regular ongoing shifts after the trial weekend. BGirls Kitchen is a busy Afro-Caribbean takeaway specialising in seafood boils, rice dishes, seafood, chicken and freshly prepared sides.We are looking for an experienced Cook or Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-paced takeaway kitchen, preparing and assembling customer orders for collection and delivery. Responsibilities include: • Preparing and cooking customer orders quickly and accurately, • Working across different kitchen stations during service, • Following BGirls Kitchen recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards, • Managing multiple orders during busy periods, • Preparing seafood, chicken, rice dishes and sides, • Reading and managing orders from Uber Eats, Deliveroo and other ordering platforms, • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness, • Completing opening, closing and cleaning duties, • Restocking and preparing your station for service What we’re looking for: • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, restaurant or busy takeaway is essential, • Confident working independently during busy service, • Good organisation and time management, • Comfortable using delivery tablets/order systems, • Reliable and punctual, • Able to work evenings and weekends, • Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable This is not a front-of-house role.
