Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Associate – Leeds – Up to £70,000 An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a specialist healthcare litigation team advising on complex clinical negligence matters. The team works with insurer and healthcare clients, handling high-value and technically challenging claims. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking a Qualified Solicitor / Associate to join its Leeds office, offering a mix of independent caseload management and support for Partners on strategic matters. This is a fantastic role for a solicitor looking to develop technical expertise, manage high-value cases and work within a collaborative, nationally recognised team. The Role • Manage and assist on a caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims, from initial notification through to trial, • Liaise with insurers, brokers, insureds and witnesses to gather evidence, • Instruct experts and counsel where appropriate, • Attend court hearings, conferences and Joint Settlement Meetings, • Draft correspondence, reports and case strategies, • Support the supervision and development of junior team members, • Ensure compliance with CPR, Clinical Negligence Pre-Action Protocol, data protection and client SLAs, • Meet agreed financial targets, KPIs and quality standards About You • A qualified solicitor with 1+ years PQE (or equivalent litigation experience), • Experienced in defendant clinical negligence (insurer or NHS-related), • Knowledgeable about CPR and Clinical Negligence Pre-Action Protocols, • Open to candidates transitioning from large loss or disease litigation, • Commercial, client-focused, and solution-driven, • Highly organised with strong analytical and tactical skills, • Confident working independently and collaboratively, • Interested in business development, client training and knowledge sharing What’s on Offer • Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience, • Generous bonus scheme, • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days, • Hybrid working arrangements, • Private medical and dental insurance, • Life assurance, • Opportunity to work on high-value, complex clinical negligence cases with a nationally recognised team Apply in the strictest of confidence online and or via telephone – there is no need for a CV for an initial conversation.
