Children’s Residential Support Worker Location: Greenwich, London Hours: Full-time Salary: Up to £16 per hour, depending on experience We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a children’s residential service in Greenwich. This is a rewarding role supporting children and young people in a safe, structured, and nurturing residential environment. As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care, emotional support, guidance, and consistency to children and young people who may have experienced trauma, emotional distress, self-harm, disruption, or complex circumstances. The Children’s Residential Support Worker role is ideal for someone with experience in residential childcare, children’s services, youth work, supported living, education, or a similar care setting. Candidates must have experience supporting children or young people who present with self-harming behaviours. About the Service Our client’s service includes: • A children’s residential setting based in Greenwich, • Support for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, • Support for young people who may present with self-harming behaviours, • A safe, caring, and structured home environment, • Person-centred support focused on safety, stability, and positive outcomes Key Responsibilities As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will: • Support children and young people with their daily routines, • Provide emotional and practical support in a residential setting, • Support young people who may present with self-harm, emotional distress, or challenging behaviours, • Help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, • Build positive and professional relationships with children and young people, • Encourage independence, confidence, education, and personal development, • Support young people with appointments, activities, and community access, • Follow care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and behaviour support plans, • Record daily notes, incidents, observations, and key information accurately, • Work as part of a team to promote positive outcomes, • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and high standards of care About You Our client is looking for a Children’s Residential Support Worker who is: • Experienced in children’s residential care, youth work, social care, education, or a similar setting, • Experienced in supporting children or young people who present with self-harming behaviours, • Calm, patient, and able to manage challenging or high-risk situations professionally, • Understanding of safeguarding and the needs of vulnerable children and young people, • Confident writing clear, factual, and professional records, • Compassionate, reliable, and committed to making a positive difference, • Able to work well as part of a team, • Flexible and willing to support children and young people with day-to-day routines What’s on Offer • Full-time position based in Greenwich, • Up to £16 per hour, depending on experience, • Meaningful work supporting children and young people, • Supportive working environment, • Opportunity to develop experience within children’s residential care, • Role with genuine impact on young people’s lives How to Apply Please apply with your CV.
