    Chichester

Based in the New Park Community Centre, Chichester Cinema is the city's only independent cinema, showing foreign language films, documentaries, performance events like the ballets, operas and latest theatre productions beamed by satellite from the West End as well as the latest film releases. We screen four films per day for 359 days of the year and we also run the annual Chichester International Film Festival, where our films are also shown in other city venues such as St John's Chapel, the Guildhall, and in a pop-up cinema too. We are a small team of ten with projectionists working on a rota system. We seek a projectionist to work one day a week (the day can be either fixed or flexible). Ideally we would like someone with experience of projecting films on DCP (rather than 35mm) but training could be given to the right person with good IT skills. A love of cinema is essential because the role will entail not just showing films but also selecting the most appropriate accompanying trailers, auditorium music, and liaising with film distributors. Shifts are long, normally from c 11:30am/12 to 10:30 pm and a lot of time will be spent being alone in the Projection Box. There will also be an opportunity to do additional shifts in the box office, with full training given, for any candidate interested. We are a close-knit team who all share a real passion for cinema, both old and new. If you love film and relish the idea of showing the very best of cinema to our loyal audiences in our cosy 110-seat cinema, this could be the role for you! In the first instance, please send a covering letter with your CV to xxxx by December 1st 2025.
