Job Description Ward Sister North Downs Hospital Part time - 28 hours per week North Downs Hospital is one of Surrey's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. Located within the M25, close to the centre of Caterham, the hospital opened in 1974 and currently has 15 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and a daycase suite. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements. The day unit is suitable for minor operations and endoscopy. Treatments at the hospital also include cataract removal, ENT procedures, hernia repair, varicose vein surgery, hysterectomy, prostate surgery and urological procedures. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Ward Sister / Charge Nurse to join the ward nursing team at North Downs Hospital. You will be expected to help lead our team, supporting junior members of the team and coordinating the ward. The role In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. The appointed Ward Sister / Charge Nurse must be organised with good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. The successful candidate will support the Ward Manager and team in ensuring that safe, effective and high quality clinical care is delivered to all patients. This role will be based at the Creative Industries Centre. The Creative Industries Centre provides a range of courses such as art and design, media, fashion, dance, music and games design with students on 16-19 study programmes, Access diplomas, Apprenticeships and Higher Education courses. Kingston College is seeking a Student Community Officer to support Curriculum, Student Services and Security Teams in the positive engagement of students, particularly those considered at risk or hard to reach. Youll play a pivotal role in providing a positive ethos within the Creative Industries Campus of the College community, encompassing enrichment and the wider holistic Student Services on offer. Youll provide an engaging, welcoming onsite presence during the College Day, signposting enrichment and promoting positive attitudes, inclusivity and behaviour and provide an early intervention support strategy for identified students at risk. As our Student Community Officer, wed like you to hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant discipline (for example, youth work, youth justice, social care) and have experience of outreach/detached youth work or similar. Youll have experience of working with young people in a school or College setting with an understanding of issues that may affect a students ability to attend College and comply with appropriate standards of behaviour as set out in Group Policy. Able to establish positive and effective relationships with young people whilst maintaining appropriate personal boundaries, youll have the knowledge and experience of managing challenging behaviour, behaviour management techniques and interventions, including de-escalation, negotiation, restorative approaches/conflict resolution. Organised with a strong ability to work successfully as an individual and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary Service and College team, youll have experience of IT and online data administration systems in relation to student records with the ability to produce accurate, timely written reports and statements.
